I can move the camera in any direction, but I can't turn it around no matter what I do. The Wiki is not helpful at all here. How do I turn the camera around to look from another direction?

people are saying this, but it doesn't work for me. nothing does. I can only zoom in and out in the level editor.
EDIT: turns out there is an issue with my logitech mouse's middle button not working. using a different mouse for now, but still trying to find out what to tell the defaultsettings.xml to use for the back/forward buttons to do the job. MB4 and MB5 don't work.
