Here's what I know:
-We both have BG2 SoA and ToB installed with the patches
-We are LANing it and not setting up a virtual lan
-Both computers, no matter who is hosting it can see one another so I don't see firewalls as an issue
-When XP is hosting, BG2 crashes on the Windows 7 machine as soon as we tell the game to start from the party screen
-When 7 hosts we seem to load 2 different games. The XP machine loades where it should with the correct party but the 7 machine loades some random game I've never seen before with party members we never had.
-I've found this to happen with vista as well
-the XP machine is dual booting 7 and I've tried LANing 7 to 7, the dual boot 7 can't even start a new game or load one without crashing, it can join a game hosted by the other 7 machine but crashes after the start button is pressed too.
I've read plenty about firewalls on routers and about issues with TCP/IP stuff. I'm not sure which is the issue in my case and I'm not sure how to implement either of those fixes. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Feel free to ask for more information if I've missed something. I really want to get this working because there are so very few co-op RPG's anymore and this is a classic. I'd really like to avoid having to dual boot the other windows 7 machine with XP.
