I posted this once already but didn't get any replies, at least not as far as I know. Without the search feature working here, I can't even find the thread since this game apparently has so many problems. Here's the deal.

I'm running the game on a Vista64 PC, downloaded through Steam. I have the memory band, dragon armor, and Stone Prisoner DLC. I can start the game just fine, I can do stuff like load saves or start new characters. On my primary game, I had gotten to Redcliffe and was leaving for the Magi Tower on the world map. When I click on my destination, the blood trail starts heading toward it, and I can see the words "Loading..." in the bottom right of the screen. Then the game kicks me back to the title screen with a window saying "Unable to Load Area". Any saved game I load, if I try to go anywhere by the world map, this happens, meaning the game is pretty much broken.

EA's official support hasn't said jack to me, even though they promised a response 24-48 hours from when I reported the issue...over 48 hours ago. I'm really hoping someone can help me, this is giving me a headache and really stressing me out because I normally don't download games through Steam and have no idea what I should do. I'd like to reinstall but have no idea what that would do to the DLC I have. I'd like to think I haven't thrown $50 down the drain, but it's starting to feel like I have.

I have not installed the toolset. At least not to my knowledge, unless Steam did it for me without asking.

You know what, nevermind. Based on some stuff I checked out, it looked like the Stone Prisoner was causing my problems. After trying some of the DLC troubleshooting advice here, everything is now completely ****ed. I give up.
