What would you like to see for a male Hawke's gay romance, or bisexual romance? Personally, I want to see a human male. Elves are nice, but we had Zevran already.

Everyone, please be civil, and mind bigotry. Having an opinion is great, but hate speech is not. I'll warn first (or someone else shall), as politely as possible, and then call attention to moderators.

Romances are optional, and we're getting an icon to deduce intent, so no more accidents. Other thread was locked, so I'm reopening it. I'd hate to see the Lady Hawke thread locked because of sexism, and am applying the same attitude here.

S/S ROMANCES CONFIRMED!

According to the RPG French interview with Mike, Dragon Age 2 will feature romances "for all genders and orientations."

Q: Concerning the romances and love interest, are all the followers subject to this if I take in account the two genders of Hawke?

A: Not every follower is interested romantically in Hawke, though there are options for players of all genders and orientations.

While I most likely wouldn't romance said gay character, I'd most likely find a Dwarf to be the hawtness.

Anyways, for a romance.. I think there's a number of things I would like to see, but won't go crazy if it's not there. For once, I'd like to have my guy with the dominant personality and as Universitas had stated before, "I'd love seeing an LI who doesn't realize his interest in men until joining up with Hawke. Someone who approaches a relationship a little more cautiously and less casually than Zevran did. "



I think it would be quite a change from the norm, if such a thing could even be considered just yet.

I think Sky did it well--you had to reject the women in the group first, and then he sort of brings up the fact he can't imagine why you'd turn down these incredibly hot women. You must initate the romance. He's always been bisexual, but he isn't sure what to say to you. As a female, he'll hit on you plenty.

I would, however, like to see the option to be bisexual, since Sky's romance limited roleplaying in that regard.

My personal opinion:



I have no issues with bi/gay/straight relationships. I understand the concern for accidental dialogue and romance. As long as the choice for pursuing a relationship is clear, I don't see a problem for anyone.



I imagine though there will not be a homosexual character, rather bisexual. One male and one female again.

I agree, that does sound like an easy way to initiate a romance. It also sounds like an efficient way  to end up avoiding the majority of the rage(rs) out there. I think it's without a doubt that any same-sex romance will probably stem from a bisexual character. It's the best course to take it seems.

Still, I just want it to be tasteful and something that lets you explore the possibilities. None of that Qunari thing.. I might  scar my mind like that.

Jade Empire.  For that matter, the game features a female/female romance as well.

The only time I can remember a character being like that in a BioWare game was with Juhani, and even then her romance wasn't accessible without the use of mods.

Best course is clearly bisexual and as long as Hawke doesn't turn into a fluffy bunny, a male-male romance should be fine.

Iunno.

I usually envision my male character being the shorter one ( should he be in a s/s romance). That's why I'm iffy about that relationship. If it was a Qunari female however.. Well, that's a different story. One with lots of chuckling involved.
