Oh god, I was like "another gay thread getting locked again?" when I saw the Bioware logo beneath the thread.

I'm serious about it ... If Bioware Put ******-Bi Sexual Content in DA2, so many of straight People [Absolute Majority of People] won't buy it at all , including me.

People threaten to not buy games all the time if they don't get what they want, or if we include something they don't want. Considering that this is content that some people do want, we're not worried about the possibility of including it. But you're welcome to express your opinion, so long as you do so politely-- just remember that "it's just my opinion" is not an excuse for expressing intolerance.

I thougt after all this time you would know that as many times as you respond...your fueling this posters desire. to try and get a rise out of you. your almost defencsive in your reponsces. i know from your work you need not defend your position

And I think it's time for you to take a brief vacation.

If you cannot add to the discussion in a sensible manner, I suggest avoiding it. Thanks.

End of my Argue.

Thanks for the laugh, then! Have a good day.

Now.. If we're going to be back on topic, I'm all for most anything really. The one thing I do want is a warrior. Human or Dalish preferred.

3) Persuant to the above, beware of majority privilege. It's very easy for people who don't have an issue that the minority feel (and this applies to race and gender-- in gaming, particularly-- as well as to sexual orientation) to believe that something is "not a problem". "I don't see why you're so uptight about it!" Realize when you make these sorts of comments that you have no idea what you're talking about, for all our sakes. You don't know what it feels like to be marginalized, and it behooves those in the majority to use at least a modicum of sensitivity when it comes to addressing such issues. No, games aren't a platform for social change, but that doesn't mean we are also absent of responsibility when we include content in our games where such issues can arise. If we were to claim "majority privilege" as our only guide, we do nothing but add to the problem. That said, we do face other limitations-- not least of which, as I said, is that this isn't the point of the game and thus is only ever going to get limited resources.

Can we make this paragraph mandatory reading for everyone in the forum?

*only half serious*

Just, STFU.  People like you continue the circle of hate.

And the scary thing is... unlike those other bigots who overtly picket and outright-threaten, these people will insidiously present their case. Unlike people who display their prejudices with no shame (who are ignorant and stupid at the end of the day), this other kind is typically smart.

They will present their hateful argument all the while maintaining a cool attitude, suggesting that what they propose is perfectly reasonable. They're like people who make false apologies. You know, the whole, "If you feel I hurt you, then I'm sorry..."

And the funniest part is... when you and I might object to their claims, they act all shocked, and dismayed, accussing us of being unreasonable, prejudiced, and oversensitive.

Anyway, way off topic. Back to DA2.

People like you make me want to have a gay wedding even though I'm straight. Just to mess with you. Because its so easy. Gay pplz all up in ur gamez, ruinin' ur life.

That made me smile. Thanks :P

There are 2-3 posters here that definitely make me not smile though and I wish there was some way I didn't have to see their posts. but such is life

=] Smiling is good. I suggest either ignoring them, or just don't give their remarks serious consideration. Or if you feel particularly energetic, have lots of sex. Apparently this messes with their universe even if they don't see it/are not near it/have nothing to do with it etc.

On-topic: I think all the threads are unanimous on one issue; be it gay or straight romances, please do not bring back the uber-cheesy music for the love scenes. The music made it seem like a unicorn covered in pink petals was going to emerge from an unlikely crevice.

This topic is really gay. Just pointing it out to you guys in case you missed it.

And I disapprove -50. Hawke is clearly a ladies man. But you all know my opinions on the matter.

Very well crafted replies and explained points there in your posts on the matter mr. Gaider! After reading through your replies I just had to come out and say a big thanks for all these in-depth posts you've been giving the community on these forums on behalf of the BioWare writing team (well, as one part of it, anyway).

Carry on.

No, its just you.

Men and women will hit on you, irl as it is in game. You will not have your hand up the NPCs ass as to determine if they will hit on you. Saying "I'm flattered, no thanks" in game isn't harder than saying it irl.

You don't start a romance with zevran unless you accept his advances.

And yes Leliana hits on you. What do you think all those stories about lovers and what not were?

Leliana has a very subtle way of flirting. I didn't notice it until one day she talked about her ability to charm people, maybe even myself. I feel as though the more subtle it is, the more likely it is to end up with an accidental romance. Maybe that's why Zevran was as.. blunt when it came to flirting.

Just maybe, most probably, the writers wrote them that way. That's just how Zevran is, he hits on everything and everyone. Its his personality, its his character, its the way he is. So he is intended to hit on you, the Grey Warden, the future champion leading against the Blight.

If you have Zevran in your party, Zevran will hit on Alistair and Leliana.

With Alistair
Alistair: I've been thinking about those ink drawings, what did you call them? Tattoos? Are you... still willing to do one?Zevran: Oh-ho! You've decided to take the plunge, have you? What is a little pain, am I right?Alistair: I'm not worried about that. I think they look interesting, though I'd want mine... smaller. When can you do it?Zevran: Not so fast, my friend. There is an entire ritual to how this is done, do you not know? First I need to bathe you in a mixture of olives and rosewater.Alistair: You need to... bathe me? That seems... odd.Zevran: No, no, no, not at all. It needs to be worked into your skin, preparing it to receive the ink. The massage is quite pleasurable, do not worry. You are in good hands.Alistair: The... massage? You're... having me on, aren't you?Zevran: I might be. I might not be. Shall I describe the rest of the ritual to you?Alistair: Hmm. No. No, on second thought I'll just pass.Zevran: *Laughs* Excellent choice!
With Leliana
Zevran: So I imagine it has been some time for you, Leliana.Leliana: Some time for me? I do not know what you mean.Zevran: Some time since you last knocked boots, shall we say? You did just come from the cloistered life, no?Leliana: Of course it has been some time. There are more important things in life than "knocking boots," Zevran.Zevran: Oh, I'll not argue that. I simply mean that the body has urges, urges given to us by the Maker. Yours must be... considerable. After all that time.Leliana: That is a very personal question.Zevran: I mean no offense. I simply offer my services should you ever feel the need for... release.Leliana: Let me think about it, then. Should every man in Ferelden suddenly die, you may even have your chance.Zevran: A-ha! Progress!
So why against making the bi/gay male option more like leliana or someone where you really hit on them first to start the romance?

The romance does not start until you reciprocate. But there were plenty of times Alistair hit on the player without my suggestion--nor did I need to express interest those times.

no wonder you have to be the one to initiate a romance. You don't realize when an npc is showing interest in yours.
