Ok there's no polite way to explain the benefits of being a short guy in a completely-not-girl-status capacity....

I'm just stating my personal preference, which is what this thread is about. :D

Am I the only hight illiterate person here? I read 5'6'' and thought "well, that's not that short; that's about how tall I am, right?" Then I had to recall that I'm actually about 5'11''

This was my sole reason for getting DA:O lol I just bought it really! I'm loving it. Lady of the Forest though was hot enough to make me want HER! Cause.. damn. They should give Lady Hawke in DA2 that face! cause... DAMN! lol

Still though, after seeing the DA2 trailer and hearing that its going to have a more centered story with a character that actually SPEAKS. Feel like a random thrown in character at in DA, but with what is being done in DA2 there is much more potential. I am really loving this game, more than I feared that I wouldn't like it. Perhaps because I saw LOTS of people that enjoy this also enjoying Oblivion - which I could not STAND. Maybe because it feels old and archaic to me but still I could not stand Oblivion.

Dragon Age tho reminded me what I loved about games I used to play: Guild Wars, Neverwinter Nights. Where skill more than stats mattered to when. Though it made me MISS guild wars in that your skills and stats are not set: they can be changed at any time in an outpost. A thing, as far as I know of, unheard of in just about any RPG like game. Can't wait till that sequel comes out.

And from me: Here here for man-lovin for Mr. Hawke! Cause DAMN! just DAMN! lol

Hawke is cute in a Colin Farrell type of way. He just needs someone tall and muscular to fight alongside him (QUNARI!)

David Gaider wrote...

What does this mean for DA2? Well, we haven't talked about any romances yet. So you'll have to see-- we're not making any promises, in particular because of the limitations I keep bringing up. If we don't include same-sex content, however, it's not because we assume too many people will think it's "icky" or because we fear a backlash, economic or otherwise.

Please return to your regularly scheduled debate. Posted Image

Wait, you mean to tell me you guys don't even know what the romances are yet? Is this game really supposed to be released in March or is there not going to be much of an emphasis on romance?

And I believe you downplay the significance of romance far too much, Mr. Gaider. Take a look around this forum or all of the discussions which have taken place. Nearly everyone is interested in one. People want to feel immersed with their characters and being able to engage in romance allows such immersion inexplicably. Although it is optional, it's a central part of the game to a great deal of people and is definately not something you can dismiss simply by referring to it as a "luxury." Romance ought to be a chief concern in a game of this nature.

And I suppose now would be a good time to ask you about which nation is the "Moors" equivalent in Thedas as well as why players cannot choose that nationality, but I suppose I'll save that discussion for another time.:)

no that's me... <_<
Hawke is ferelden-human-height unless they've come up with varying height meshes which seems unlikely.
But he does need a tall muscular LI.

I think what he meant was that no romance options or potential LI's have been official confirmed. They've certainly discussed them amongst themselves just not with us.

Is that one of your horns or are you just happy to see me?

Sorry lol I just had to.

I can't wait for DA2. I can't see any reason why there would be no romance, let alone no M/M romance in DA with how the first game is. I mean... Just damn! The first game has such a large emphasis on emotion, it would be a shame for DA2, with a central main character, not to have a love interest of the players personal choosing, each with differing personalities and appearances, as well as gender (as such, was the first game). Give us all or give us none is my comment. I won't be purchasing the game if M/M is EXCLUDED. Well I will, but I'd be getting it USED not new. Won't give the company my money if its not going to listen to fan feedback and end up abandoning, plotwise and whatnot what is a NORM for DragonAge: romances, emotions, decisions. Besides large scale conflicts romance is another that can make the latter feel that much more. Larger, more important.

I can't wait for the day when a RPG exists where one may have a love interest of their choosing (with multitudes to choose from) wherein it will include, in a serious manner, the characters chosen love interest in the conflict of the plort: ie- putting them in serious harm. In a sense, instead of a "origins" being all that is really different, have the romance options more or less almost dictate how the game plays out (as well as other decisions). Such a thing could be made, and I can't wait until it does :D

That's how I found out, too. Someone emailed me a link to a review about Dragon Age written by someone who was extremely disgruntled because of the option for homsexual romances. I was so curious I read the article, then went out and bought the game.

I had never played a single Bioware game before that, but have since played or beaten every one. Also, Dragon Age: Origins was the first video game I had ever finished all the way to the end. No joke.

I doubt that's how it happened for everyone else, but that's my story. ^_^

They did something like that in Baldur's Gate 2, where your love interest was kidnapped at a certain point. Not that it really made any huge difference story-wise, but it kind of surprised me the first time i played the game.

I wouldn't mind if romances could affect the game more in DA2, but I don't think it will be an essential part, since there are people who don't care that much about the romances.

My ideal m/m romance:

Character more than physical existance, however having an LI that could turn into a jet fighter might lead to some interesting Top Gun style moments.
