Cool gay guy in history, Emperor Hadrian of the Romans. Responsible for building Hadrians wall. Greeks are a bad example, as jeezy said their society was pretty disgusting.

Enough of your trolling, please. You looked for that picture and posted it particularly to incense people, even if it didn't work. That should be enough warning.

If you can leave out the image spam, you're welcome to continue in the discussion.

dont adress the troll just report them quietly. he might bring his troll family to the thread.

No he's still banned but I'm sorry I did for laughs (Americans have a wierd sense of humor) and failed.Posted Image

And yet Hadrian loved Greek culture.

Seriously, Burrito, voicing opinions on things you don't know anything about is always going to make you look stupid. Posted Image

Only when you're here.

I'm not sure why you're so constantly fascinated by the gay romance threads when you never really contribute anything to them. Keep it constructive, as I'm sure you wouldn't want the mods laying the banhammer down on you again.

I thought it was about what type male romance option character we would like to see for male hawke.

Though I'll admit that one might have trouble gleaning that.

Well like everyone I have opinions on this matter I don't voice them but I like browsing and all I said was Hadrian was a cool guy.

Aww but why would you break the two of them up? They are such a lovely couple lol for NPCs at least.

The're the best couple in the game imo.  I feel bad for wanting to break them up but I can't help but think I want Hawke to be evil. and there is nothing more evil than breaking up Wade and Herren. :D

I'd have passed on the Alistair and Zevran romances if there weren't trophies. Call me old fashoined or worse, but the idea of same sex male on male doesn't cut it for me, and neither did doing the romances as a female character.

As far as i was concerned, that was the only part that i felt "forced" to have to do if i wanted the trophy. I just walked out of the room until the clips were done.

Don't get me wrong, i don't mind if that's your thing...more power to you.

If there is a reason i might skip DA2, that would be it. :?

Well if you're, presumably, a straight guy, of course romancing other men will feel forced to you. Just as romancing female companions/npc's would feel 'forced' for me, but I wouldn't ask for its omission because its there for other players, not me.

Can I ask why homosexuality specifically would prevent you buying the game as opposed to other things in the game like violence, murder and (going off what was in Dragon Age: Origins) torture and rape themes?

You know you could have just hit 'Escape?' or presumably start or some other button on consoles?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question... but couldn't you have just not gotten the trophies? I mean it is just 3 of them... and they're bronze no less...

And miss out on gamerscore/trophies are you mad!

On Topic: I'm straight right, but the male on male never bothered me because it actually enriched my gaming experience.
I make charaters with very elaborate back stories and I've never thought of any of them as being gay, so when I had this option in DA I was able to make a new and completely  different charater that I never would have thought of making  and for that I'll always be thankful to Bioware.

I used to think you bought dlc with gamerpoints and thats why people were so intent on getting the achievements =/. You can throw rocks at me now if you need to.

What, and give gamerscores a *point*? Are you mad!?

See, I thought this for a little bit (since I play on PC primarily the whole 'gamerscore' thing kinda passed me by). Then I realised that the points max on DA was less than the cost of the DLC, so I must have been wrong. I think it confuses a lot of us who are unfamilar with the system and blindly believe it must have a higher function.

They're great multitaskers.

Please, ProudNegro, comments like these incite offense, and try to avoid making them. Girls don't like to hear "Wait, you play video games, why aren't you in the kitchen?", so don't make similar stereotypes about anyone else, if you please. :)

Their justification wasn't to say why they didn't think it was viable to include M/M. It was why all the gay options had to also be bi. At least that was my reading of it.

This was my understanding as well.

In other words, the subset of gamers that would care whether a m/m romance is explicitly gay as opposed to bi, is itself a subset of the gamers that just want an m/m romance to begin with, which is itself a subset of the game's target audience in general. Catering to such a niche would yield too few dividends for the work required, especially when the media would be satisfied just with the bi romances.

I actually would agree.
It's nice to have a bone. (Pun unintended to you dirty minds;) )
In a perfect world we would all have our perfect LIs. But asking for specifcally gay ones (to me) verges on being given an inch and wanting a mile.

It would be lovely to have a gay-only option, but I'm just happy we were given (wonderful) bi options to start with.

I would also like greater variety among LIs... It would be nice if we had to chose between Alistair and Zev.

(I really don't like getting into the whole manly man vs. flamboyant man and what is better since subjects like those raise questions like:

1. What makes a man a man?
2. Alistair was written to be straight and seems straight to me - Really? Who are you to determine what seems gay and what seems straight?

...and so on.

Variety is the stuff of life BioWare! :wizard:)

I really don't care if the same sex options are bi so long as they're in there.Obviously it would be nice to see a gay companion but I wouldn't push my terrible luck.

I'm for this as well. I have no qualms about the characters being bisexual. I'd like a greater variety though instead of just.... zevran.. ugh.. Though I did enjoy the line: Arg! Pirate Zevran ready for duty, prepared to be boarded!

I had no intention of asking for a PURE gay character, because seriously, like you said WHAT is essentially gay. Nothing about ones appearance or personality (flamboyancy) means one is gay. I've always just considered myself a dude that likes dudes. Simple as that. And as a dude that likes dudes I have to throw in this: I can't stand feminine men. If they give a feminine man as the male option, I'll be ****ing until I turn blue.

I'm more optimistic for dragon age than pessimistic, but I'm the later simply by forcing myself to be so I am not disappointed. With how Dragon Age Origins was, it would make little to no sense to take out the variety of love interests (most of which made sense, and i am sorry zevran, he was too much of a ****) but give us a manly man option whom ISNT easy. Whom isn't easy for the men or women to romance. Who's hard to get for all (pun intended :P).

I think sexuality is handled differently in thedas then irl, that's why I think you don't see many full gay characters.

And lets not forget during the time of the romans, many married (as marriage as a contract between families for alliances, property and wealth) yet the majority of them took on lovers, and it was not uncommon for a man's lover to be another man (otherwise there would be a risk of a female lover getting his child and having a claim to things as well, though this is just a guess.)

For someone who's username is 'ProudNegro' you seem have a surprising lack of empathy towards minorities.

No, Romans didn't look highly on homosexuality in general.  Cities like Pompeii had a number of homos, but that city basically worshipped the dick.  It was wierd look it up. lol
