Anyway, if anyone is left here to discuss any sensible matters. I think there is still a mild lack of male mage companions. I mean, there was Anders, but then there was Wynne, Morrigan, Velanna and now Bethany.

I would like to hope a male mage might be LI.

I would also like a male mage companion. I found it a bit lacking in DA:O. In this case since Bethany and possibly Hawke are both apostates, a mage from the circle might make a good contrast.

A local mage, who would talk about how the Circle is in the Free Marches. Who could perhaps help Bethany and possibly Hawke to hide from the massive Templar influence in Kirkwall.

I would definitely like to see a male mage, but I don't know if I'd want him as the gay LI. I'd still rather see a warrior since tough. strong, soldier types aren't often depicted as gay in most media right now. It would be a very nice change from the normal portrayal.

Well, there's also Finn in Witch Hunt and someone named Sketch in Leliana's song. I haven't played either and I have no real desire to play LS so I don't know what their personalities were like. But that gets it closer to even.
Plus we do know there will be at least 2 companions of each class in DA2 so there's certainly room for a male mage.

Finn and Sketch were both great characters, but we didn't really get to spend a lot of time with them, and likely won't see them in the future. In terms of connection with the player they don't stand up against characters like Morrigan, Wynne, or Anders (though I like them both better than Velana).

Well, who knows?  IIRC it's been stated that we will indeed see DLC characters in the future.

I love Nathaniel.  He has a great story arc and a quiet (but sweet) personality.

I'll third the Nathaniel suggestion. I adored him in Awakening, especially with my Cousland warden. Since it's been strongly hinted at that we'll see him again, I'd love to see Nate specifically as a LI. But given that he can be killed in Awakening, I don't know how likely that would be. Of course, all the LIs but Morrigan could be killed/missed in the first game, so maybe that doesn't mean anything.

The class can quite well shape or define the personality of a character.

I don't know why, but the idea of a rogue templar always fascinates me, especially if were to play as a mage (which I am). Not like Alistair 'cause.. technically, he never really went "rogue". He got yanked out, but yeah. I just wouldn't want an LI who went crazy over you being a mage.

I have never played a M/M romance, but if they made the biggest meanist and toughest warrior npc in the game the gay option I may just try it out on a playthrough to see something unique.

No offense to Gaider (I love your writing) but yeah. The Bi options being rogues is getting pretty "meh" at this point.



Granted all of the Rogues were rather different character wise which is the most important thing I suppose but...I just want someone blunt. Not Sten level blunt but pretty up there.
