Seriously people 42 pages??  Sounds like the US government as to why I just received a 12 page document as to why you need to put a company name next to a DOT emergency telephone number.  (that is for real).  (Just put the name next to the phone number). Stop with the bickering and just except!!!

It's not about bickering. Most of it is people talking about what they'd like to see for a M/M romance, which is the purpose of this thread. It'd be best that there is no bickering, since it quickly gets the thread locked.

Anyone who romanced Zevran needs therapy. On a lighter note, I hope any bisexual characters we get are not rogues this time.  A warrior or mage would be nice.

As far as a male romance for the male Hawke I would prefer someone similar to Alistair ( looks and personality wise). I always found Zevran a little over the top for my gay male warden ( though I still romanced him and convinced him to stay in the end). Oh and it would be nice if the character was exclusivly  gay/homosexual. Both Leliana and Zevran were Bi-sexual ( though the argument could be made that Leliana was more attracted to women than men).

M4M romance for Hawke?

Someone like Sten, just to go against the Zevron (somewhat) stereotype.

Be great to have this great hulking warrior (quanari would be OK, but I would prefer human) that you hack and slash your bloody path along side of, who, upon returning to camp, comes up to you and says

"Yo, Hawke. Fighting leaves me, like, hyper. I'm thinking if you're into it, some tent time would go down good right about now. And, little buddy, just wanna remind you, I'm a TWO handed warrior...you up for it?"

After the cocky pre-fight banter and slippery innuendo, it would be nice to have some up front forthright propositioning.

So yeah! for our little Antivan leather lovin' rogue, but it's time to bring on the butt stompin' Sten machine!

+10 approval. If they stick to the bisexuals only thing, I would not mind that kind of character at all for a Lady Hawke either, or for the Player Character of BW games yet to come.

I’d like to see a romance-able same-sex adventuring companion for my male Hawke, because it personalizes the game for me as a gay gamer, but I have absolutely no requests or expectations on who or what he’s like. If there is a male gay/bisexual character in the game as long as David Gaider is working-on/writing him I have complete faith he’s going to be a great aspect of the game and he’ll always be in my party. Alternatively, if BioWare decides for whatever reason not to include a character of this nature I will still love and obsess over DA2 regardless.

With a limited amount of companions available, of course also the romance combinations are limited (even more so if, as in DAO, not all the companions are "potentially bisexual" but have their own preference). This means that someone will be necessarily disappointed because he/she won't find -that- combination he was looking for ("damn, Bioware, where is the transsexual dwarf mage I wanted?!").



Personally I think the possibility of some homosexual romance would be a big plus for a game, as it has been in DAO (and, incidentally, I was not offended by Zevran neither I consider him a sterotype - after all, every individual is different). Actually I was surprised that you could romance "only" four characters.



What I can suggest to Bioware, though, is to make this part of the game (sexuality, romance, etc.) more "user-friendly customizable", so that modders can create with more ease the combinations that are not included in the "canon" game.

Not fussed this on a whole does not appeal to me, dont get me wrong I have no problems with it being in game for those that appreciate it, but I don't want it forced onto my character.. by that I mean I am a perfectionist on these games aiming for a 100% completion over many gameplays id hate to think I have to romance a man just to gain all achievments involved, All though its just a game it goes against who I am as a person.

You think an achievement for a gay romance forces you to play that romance, even though the whole point of achievements is that you have to play the game a certain way to get them... What.


Anyway, I'm adding my support for a grizzled veteran, but I wouldn't mind having someone like Nathaniel as a m/m love interest either.

I have no problems with its inclusion in game, I have no problems with the gay community, what people do behind closed doors is thier own business.

So to answer you frankly then Yes I think an achievment for a gay romance forces me to play that romance if I want to gain all achievments!! I would much prefer if they didnt add the achievment in the first place.

If we base potential romances on how DAO worked then nothing would force you to play a gay character. We were able to get Zev's acheivement by playing a female warden and Lel's acheivement with a male... So I don't really see how anything is forced.

And if they keep to that format its partially ok it allowed choice, though I personally still found it difficult to get the acheivment for Alistair / Zev as the concept of romancing a male character (even when playing as a female) uncomftable viewing..

You aren't forced to do anything. If romancing a guy is that painful for you, just don't do it, the achievment doesn't give any in game bonuses, it's just bragging rights.
