Didn't read most posts, just skimmed over the recent page. I don't see what's wrong with Zevran hitting on you if you're still playing a straight male character, is it completely odd that an attraction forms without your input? People get hit on in real life without giving off similar vibes.

Alistair: I've been thinking about those ink drawings, what did you call them? Tattoos? Are you... still willing to do one?

Zevran: Oh-ho! You've decided to take the plunge, have you? What is a little pain, am I right?

Alistair: I'm not worried about that. I think they look interesting, though I'd want mine... smaller. When can you do it?

Zevran: Not so fast, my friend. There is an entire
ritual to how this is done, do you not know? First I need to bathe you
in a mixture of olives and rosewater.

Alistair: You need to... bathe me? That seems... odd.

Zevran: No, no, no, not at all. It needs to be worked
into your skin, preparing it to receive the ink. The massage is quite
pleasurable, do not worry. You are in good hands.

Alistair: The... massage? You're... having me on, aren't you?

Zevran: I might be. I might not be. Shall I describe the rest of the ritual to you?

Alistair: Hmm. No. No, on second thought I'll just pass.

Zevran: *Laughs* Excellent choice!

Of course, you can be as oblivious as you like, when the situation allows for it.

Shale: Easily. I fail to see how any measure of attractiveness would make one difficult to crush.

Zevran: Perhaps you do not know how to look, then. Here, take that templar fellow. Rugged good looks, quick wit, manly shoulders. Just getting him to hop borders is a challenge worthy of great heroes.

Alistair: A challenge? I'd happily hop borders, given the chance. I've never even been close to leaving Ferelden!

You go ahead and believe what you like, Alistair.

Ugly or not, he's still a lovable, cuddly, well-meaning little naive puppy who maybe gets kicked around too much.

Anyhow.

I think, for a male/male romance, I'd like to see a quiet, thoughtful sort of guy.

The life out of him? Sure

I would bet any amount of money Alistair isn't really like that. It's just become a convenient mechanism to get him out of complicated situations which he never wanted to be in in the first place. Not unlike Morrigan's sarcasm or Leliana's false personas (when stalking a target)

Quiet & thoughtful people are boring, besides you have them for free everyday. Games need people who'd beat devil in a pokergame, that's why Morrigan was so awesome.

Yeah. As a lady, I see plenty of introspective guys who think carefully about their actions and situations. Self-knowledge is all the rage in college.

Actually I see what SaibH is getting at. I immediately thought of a 40 something veteran with light eyes, graying hair and a deep laugh that fills the room on the few occasions you hear it.

er- Maybe I have had to much to drink...

Wasn't that the original plan for Alistair?

I don't really want an introverted and thoughtful male LI because most of the time that's how I am (you wouldn't know it from the way I post online but..)

Although I'm strangely very attracted to Nathaniel. Go figure.

Yep. He didn't test well with male focus groups apparently.

Short of being old and veteran, no. He was more Carth-like. Mistrusting and such. That would have went over well.

I can't tell what's worse, Carth-like or Jacob-like.

Yeah they had to make him like Xanders instead. Jesus, I loved Buffy but I wanted to strangle him back then to.

I may have to cope with that, but if I got it in a *fantasy* game as well, I'd get an allergy. :D

Besides you don't end up with all personalities you fancy, due to self-interest considerations some need to be hedged out in longer term situations :P

He isn't nearly as bad as Xander. I'm watching Buffy season 1 right now and I'm having flashbacks to my highschool days like you wouldn't even know.

I'd forgotten just how many awful synthetic fabrics we wore back then.

Hm, I know it is a different company and different writers, but what would you guys think of another Bishop?
