I. Hated. The. Fade. More. Than. Anything.
Does that answer how I felt about the Circle Tower
Okay, I officially hate the Circle Tower more than any other game place

The Magi tower meet its goal.
You feel loneliness because your party is only hope while Templa close the gate behind you and have preparation to wipe everything in the tower out if you can't do it in time.
I'm feel very proud after i finish it, with fun too. X)

I never liked "alternative" realities like shadow planes, dreamworlds, etc..I would skip the fade if I could...however it is the least irritating as far as I can remember of all Bioware games...

I went to the tower as my second major destination after getting the sacred ashes as i was told it was easy.... with the sloth demon, devil summoners and the revanent it was anything but easy but i loved it and the fade section too!

i thaught the concept of the fade was alright but making things blurry on my screen gave me headaches, i wish they just kept it without the blurr effects.
I actually thaught it was a very loathesome task trudging around looking for the demons, ironicly i did it completley in the right order without having to double back
so i thaught it was fine.
Oh and the sloth demon, well it was kind of obvious how to defeat him,

I didn't like it, but that's not because of the content, but the graphics. I ended up with a headache after staring at a swimmy and blurred screen for close to 3 hours. I am already dreading the time when I have to go through it again with a second character.
Really?
I have no problem about repeating that with another char. Actually, I can't wait to get there with my second char. There I can test my chars soloing.
What I am dreading is all the dialogs and history I will have to repeat with all of my chars. Really, the story, dialogs and lore of the game are great. But they didn't think much about replayability. I don't want to hear the same stories with 8 chars. Sure, there are some new ones each playthrough, but the rest... I feel like I am pressing esc more than anything else.
The dialogues change dramacitically with different sex race and class....:innocent:

Nobody tell the OP about the truck-loads of free permanent attribute gains in the Fade later on.

Only things I disliked about the tower was the fact my inventory was overflowing, and the other fact Sten had to be a dense brick head when I stated I wanted to save as much people I could for my army to crush the bloody darkspawn.

any part of a game where your last option to skip it is a save more than a half hour back is bad design. as good as the writing is for most parts of this game, there were a few very significant times where my character is absolutely forced to act in a manner contradictory to how he had been allowed to act to that point. the saving grace usually is the pain of restricted options being short-lived: a 15-minute exploration+battle sequence and you're past it. this was entirely different.
any situation such as this where there are clear-cut ideal+terrible tactics turns the player into an automaton. as a support/debilitating mage, my only hope of surviving the arbitrary battles was to use the proper form according to the enemy faced. there was no thought, no creativity, no strategy beyond the initial encounter with said enemy type. add to this the boredom of playing only my character for the majority and being reminded of why a game like diablo is such a grind tactically.
overall, i thought it was a good start for something clever but was never fleshed out and the slightly interesting parts were both forced and repetitive.

The Fade part was my favorite part up to now...haven't finished my first play through yet. Unfortunately the Fade shapeshifting is far more useful and fun than the normal mage shapeshift option.

Loved the fade, stat boosts, changing form.
On my second playthrough I went to the mage tower first just because of this. Also, navigating the Fade is much easier the second time around when you know where to grab all of the different forms and what order you should get the forms. (I typically go Spirit -> Burning Man -> Golem for the least amount of backtracking).

I loved it. The fade was a little bit of a drag but besides that not too difficult. I liked the mysticism and horror theme it had, like it should have.

I spent the whole time wondering how my dwarven arse managed to get in there, no connection to the fade and all.

Now I remember one thing I was disappointed with in the fade, it was when I played the circle first and then didn't have the fade shape-shifting powers anymore when I returned to the fade later.

The fade is hardest the 1st time and pretty annoying but once you get there a 2nd time..or 3rd..or 4th you'll be able to blitz through it quite easily and it's not that bothersome.
I'm currently on my 3rd playthrough and the only thing I regret is that I did it as the last area in my first campaign..the stat boosting is just awsome.

fade was hard to understand at first, I imagine a second run thru will be very easy. I liked it better than redcliff. It was easier than the nightmare redcliff was.

I had no problems with the Circle Tower. The Fade was annoying until I stopped and figured out how to use the forms to my advantage. Once I did that, the Fade actually became fun and the final fights were rather easy. I wish I could have kept the Burning Man form...

hmmmm, The Fade wasnt my favorite area of game.
I got majorly fustrated with it because I missed learning the fire and spirit forms originally till I looked up cheats online (was trying to do everything by mousehole).
I found reading the codex and quests very hard to do ingame (and thats on a 61" HDTV) so missed alot of info in them (BW needs V/O for that stuff like was in Mass Effect or just better style of writing. Had no trouble reading stuff in ME, but in DA:O it hurt my eyes)
Anyways, with out Golem form, the fade can be very fustrating.
I must have spent 6-7 hours of backtracking before finally breaking down and looking it up online (I like doing stuff myself)
As for the fade itself, it reminded me alot of the spirit realm in Jade Empire. I love DA:O but there is alot of stuff thats feels like a direct copy of other works.
The opening battle at Ostagar was very LotRish to me, truth be told.

Only bit I find tedious about the Fade is the constant back and forth, revisiting areas so you can get all the attributes or just to actually complete the area.
