I doubt the far left is another male dwarf. It is clearly a dwarf since the legs seem much shorter then  the other characters. But it also looks to be much thinner, and smaller then Varric (if that is him), which makes me say it's a female dwarf. Well guess we will have to wait until the devs start doing character reveals much like in Origins and ME2. Let the speculating begin!

Some of those shapes are so distorted you can't really say what or who they're supposed to represent, so don't look too much into it.

That's right!  I did forget that.  Then again, with all that chest hair and with being short and all, I think it's perfectly understandable that I would confuse Varric with another Squirrel.

The picture shows four people in the deep roads, this could help with finding who is in the Splatter-dragon.
My guess from left to right: male or female dwarf warrior, male elf warrior (archer), male qunari mage, Aveline, Varric, Bethany (waving her hand), Isabela.

3 or 4 males, 3 or 4 females, 2 dwarves, 3 humans, 1 elf, 1 qunari. Sounds reasonable enough to me.
Although if I am correct that would mean possibly no male human romance for Hawke.
Which I don't really give a nug for, but it would probably outrage some non human hating females or males.

(If anyone is wondering I made the first two warriors because in origins and related dlcs,
warrior companions outnumber rogue / mage companions. So I thought this would be reflected into DA2).
