Bethany is modestly dressed even if she does have a big chest. Nothing is over the top about her design. I just don't get all the hullabaloo.

Well, if you ask me, I don't know any gamer girl. Just my gf. I guess I found a mine o' gold, because she loves all kind of genres, from shooters to survival horror, RPG, racing, and many more.
But all the other girls I know don't care about games. In fact, some of them have Wii or one of the other consoles and don't even touch them, they prefer to go out, go shopping, having tea or coffee with her friends, and NO, i'm not making fun of them. That's what they do.
Reality is that most gamers are male. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't know a lot of gamer girls, and it's not like "I haven't been looking for them".

And, as a girl, I have met plenty. I also will tell you the first thing I tell a guy is not that I'm a gamer. Too many of them immediately assume there's something socially wrong with gamer girls, and will otherwise assume I'm the same type of girl that really, really loves Justin Bieber if I say nothing. If a guy expresses interest in gaming, I will slowly start to hint at my knowledge, but otherwise keep my mouth shut about it until I know he'd be cool with it (or the kind of guy that loves their girlfriends playing games with them) or I've been dating him for awhile.

On XBox Live, I don't immediately make people aware that I am female. If it comes up, I don't deny it, but until then I try to avoid the subject. When I just want to get through a campaign without being harassed, I'll even pretend to be a guy. I know a lot of girls who do.

Of course, you have the right to be here if you want, but I don't get it.
And being married, why?

But video games, comic books? There are no "actors" in those.

Comic books originated with focus on superhuman characters which are well beyond what a regular human is capable of, so the exaggeration of human form in them is quite natural consequence of that. Video games being pretty new genre generally just parrot what's shown in movies and the comic books created around the time these games are made, i.e. very recent productions.

I don't 100% agree on that, it has to be consistent with some notions of fantasy settings, that go back to medieval England, perhaps oxfordshire etc.

But even there female mages are fine with large boobs, they're not melee.

In the way of what? spells?

In the way of doing all the stuff I've listed several times already (probably somewhere in this exchange too)

in this thread you said about female athletes, not female mages and whether you consider it a stereotype or not, mages don't need physique. If old men can do it, young women with boobs also can.

Oh jesus christ,

Anyone who provides a supporting role in a combat situatiot has to be physically fit. There's no way around that. Anyone who spends 50% of their day traveling on foot across difficult terrain for weeks maybe even months at a time while carrying what has to be more than 20 lbs of gear and has earth shattering breasts is going to have a hell of a time with it.

Magic isn't real. They can make up what they like about it. I know it's not real, and don't have a particular basis in reality for it. Dragons have a standard that I expect to be kept (fire breathing, lizard-like, they fly), but otherwise, they are free to make up what they want.

Women are (would you believe it) naturally occuring specimens. I can compare them against real life. I am a girl, in fact. I can make judgments on what is closer to reality or not.

Good fantasy is grounded in reality. When it isn't, you're specifically enjoying that fantasy because it's so completely campy and unrealistic. DA is not that kind of fantasy.

Actually I'm going to have to agree with this. The devs and writers have basically said '**** all the realistic elements of DA that you loved so much, MariSkep.' 'Oh well, thanks guys. Um... not sure what to say. Big ****** still don't make a lick of damn sense.'

Not everyone is on board with old wizards being physically fit.  Quite frankly, that's a ridiculous notion likely invented for Tolkein's patented walking scenes.  The man didn't ****** great ideas.

Er...I'm not sure what "if old men can do" means?

In any case, it's not unrealistic to have breasts. If Bethany's character model is limited to small portion of the female population, great. But I'm operating under the assumption that it is universal. In that case, it is extremely unrealistic.

Simply being in a cave is not reality.
You must go out explore and take in as much knowledge as possible.
If you die along the way....it is failure.

Wrong approach. First thing you should be saying is how much you love to fire a level 4 Cryo blast at a Blue Suns merc and follow it with a Vanguard charge so you can watch his body shatter into little, tiny shards of ice.

Trust me, this will impress.

Have them is one thing. To show them off as totally vulnerable target to anyone with bow, sword and two brain cells because she's too lazy to tie that chainmail 50 cm higher is quite another.

I have, have you? this going to be a free roaming rpg, walking too much was never a central part of their games, nor was this an issue ever in Bioware rpgs, under any character, they could just keep walking for ever and ever. And now they cant because... Bethany has boobs?

Walking was never the focus in Bio's rpgs, since female mages with boobs are fine in combat, there is absolutely no reason for Bethany to go to the surgeon.
