Actually it was once, if I remember correctly the wife of the man talking about the meteor baby used that model.
Would you be ok with guy oriented eye-candy if there were more for women?

Bethany is a mage so when did mages need athletic bodies to fight with magic? Sure, you'd need stamina to travel long distances.
We don't know if Bethany is even a long term companion, but I would assume that any party member would have to be quite fit, even aside from traveling and (presumably) carrying things. Battle in this game is dynamic, unpredictable, and wouldn't be friendly to someone used to a sedentary existance.
Good point. I guess if she studied in the tower and was fresh out of it, she'd be a little less fit. The mages weren't allowed to leave the tower, right? Even on excursions? Anyway, this conversation is actually off topic so I'll leave it at that.

Hehe yeah, I guess not. Shouldn't have to pay extra to see the one fat, out of shape, non-supermodel woman in all of Ferelden.

Ergo, you're not going anywhere with this discussion.

Short version: All breast sizes are awesome by default because they are breasts duhhh.
I already addressed this in an earlier post but I don't think less of women with large breasts. If she has huge breasts on an otherwise stick-thin body ala Barbie, then no I don't think she looks much like a fighter. If the large breasts are attached to, say, a lady who looks like a female Qunari, I'm going to run away before she kicks my ass.
I am not belittling well-endowed ladies, I just don't think the far end of the spectrum should be the default body model.
Edit: and that goes for both ends of the spectrum. I don't think A cups should be the default either.
People will have different ideas about what marks the far end of the spectrum, but I get what you're saying. My ideal FemHawke would look like Captain Soi Fong from Bleach (and men all over the world disagree with me), so I would love a lithe and muscular Hawke. I don't want to repeat myself, so in summation I just think it had to be made clear that the wording we use when discussing our ideal Hawke should chosen with a certain delicacy as it we may inadvertently be offending real people when we are talking about pixels and what we want them to represent.

Bethany's breasts and body figure stretch believability. She is both thinner and has larger breasts then Pamela Anderson. Can't imagine why anyone would find Pamela Anderson attractive, but this is besides the point.

However, in DA there were more than a few female characters who had more than boobs, they had brains, and courage, and confidence, so the fact they all had the same body (except for the dwarven ones that freaked me out), wasn't an issue to me.
Good points--BioWare does tend to make great characters of both genders, and the use of the same body type for most characters came down to a "suspense of disbelief" issue for me. I doubt most men in Thedas have such nicely chiseled bodies underneath their clothing, just like I'm pretty sure Wynne didn't really have the body of an 18 year old.

Fair enough and I will add that I would very much like to play a Hawke with Soi Fong's body type. But I'll admit also that Yoruichi is one of my favorite characters from Bleach and she is, um, extremely well-endowed.

Speaking for myself, as a woman gamer, it's not her breast SIZE exactly that bothers me. In comparison to the rest of her body, though, it seems very distracting. She's very slender everywhere else and then pop! there's some big ol bewbies. Of course this body type exists, but it's just not something I'd want my PC to look like.
It's just too bad that we can't have a little variety. But hey, it could certainly have been much worse!
Exactly! That's the thing that bothers me. It just looks weird
I don't understand why they did this. Breast size was fine in origins. Morrigan had a revealing outfit and she looked fine. The chasind robe was very revealing with larger breasts on female chars but it still wasn't THAT extreme.

Bethany is an apostate, and apparently Mage!Hawke will get to be an apostate as well. The Hawkes are also don't seem to be members of the priveleged class and are most likely used to daily physical labor.

Well, I did say as much, but if models are consistent throughout animations then it is possible to guesstimate surely... Bethany would beat Aveline hands down in this case.. I daresay Bethany has a special model, as certain special characters will now, and Aveline is of the more generic type?

It's already been brought up, BY A WOMAN, that not all women think the things in that picture are eye candy. Like I said earlier in the thread, what traits people find attractive is totally and completely dependent on the person.
You can't lump all guys into liking gigantic blimp boobs just like you can't lump all women into liking men with steriod muscles.
Also against my better judgement i'm going to say this.
A big part of Bioware games are the romance subplots (infact they are one of my favorite parts of a Bioware game). An important part of any good romance is that you feel attracted to your romantic partner, and i'm sure everyone here can agree that men as a whole focus more on visual attraction then women do.
That being said I think it's completely fair for women to want THEIR character to not be oversexualized. However I do not think it's realistic to expect Bioware to dress all the women in the game up in turtleneck sweaters and trench coats.
I don't necessarily agree that the women in the game need to have huge knockers, nore do i think the men need to be giant meatheaded muscle masses. Then again I'm not the one creating the game. If Bioware wants their game to include these things then nothing that is said on this forum is going to prevent it from happening.
In the end all you can do is vote with your dollar and quite frankly with Bioware's track record I would be willing to purchase a game where I played the pretty pink Alistair/unicorn half-breed. I'd even go in with optimism.
Whether or not I'd buy the sequel is still up in the air.

Hmm...well, I stick to my point. You people can't expect this kind of realism, the stereotypes are a big thing. Big boobs and six-pack abs.
They didn't hear you when you complained about the diapers and underwear, despite you weren't requesting porno videos, and I'm sure that they won't hear you now.
