Bethany doesn't need to have the most common type of breast. Also sampling from a thread where many people use to "protest" about Beths boobs is such a small & badly chosen sample that it isn't a reasonable way to estimate if people in general actually like or mind Beth's boobs.

Well, rare is a word not a percentage, but I'm pretty sure people see women with boobs of that size not as rarely as presented in this thread.

she needs to be believable because her model stands a good chance of being everyone's model.

You obviously have a very noticeable group telling you it's in the way of immersion. they outlines many reasons why such a bust size doesn't make sense. You lose nothing by scaling it down. Why are you resisting?

Her breasts are fine, they don't violate the laws of nature as claimed.

Noticeable group == 4-5 people?  very noticeable... this is serious evidence that boobs break immersion

I personally find that a man can be attractive without being the best looking in town. Alistair had a great personality to begin with, aside from being tall and muscular. And that's why i really liked him (and romanced him over 3 times in my playthrougs).



Tho i must admit that i haven't yet seen Hawke's personality but he is really damn hot. But he HAS to be muscular, otherwise the sword would lift him, not viceversa. And he just scream manliness!



As for women being eye-candy, if you think about big boobs and bikini chainmail...oh hell no. Big boobs stand in the way of casting spells, wielding swords or daggers (and i am not even going to enter the bikini chainmail topic no no). I think i am ok with big butts tho, they act as a good pillow when you fall? xD

So I just checked out that picture of Bethany in the chainmail/robe get-up. I assume that's the picture we're talking about with regard to her breasts? Yes, they are too big, but I don't mind too much, so long as Lady Hawke doesn't have the same body model. I will be rather upset if she does, as I have no wish to play a woman who is that plastic and top-heavy. I will also be rather upset if the majority of body models are that busty as it represents, to me, an unrealistic expectation of the female form. Yes, I know this is a fantasy game, but I would hope that the devs would keep the feelings of the female gamers in mind. The gaming world seems too saturated with boobs as is. Busty Lady Hawke? No. Just no.

I'm just going to keep posing this question until someone can counter this argument effectively:

Do you dislike (and that is all I'm asking, not what you like more) characters with average breasts?

If you do not, why can't you see that having average sized figures is not a bad thing? Surely some of you liked either Tali, Morrigan, Leliana, Ashley, Jack, or Miranda? Miranda's breasts were large, but not as big as what we're seeing on Bethany, and definitely would be an improvement over that.

I bet you have liked female love interests, despite having average or non-gargantuan-sized chests. Your ability to enjoy the game is not diminished.

It is however, diminished for girls.

Everyone wins with women having reasonable figures. You guys can certainly get your eye-candy and fanservice, and women are happy with their character avatars.

Keep in mind that if Bethany's model is limited to a few characters, even love interests, that's fine. But not for every woman in Thedas.

It seems to me guys on the other side rarely acknowledge this argument with anything cohesive. So I'm asking it again (again).

This is pretty much what it boils down to. I see nothing but selfishness (even with logical or sane reasons) in asking for something else. This pleases everyone.
