3) Sword and Shield warrior (This is my current playthrough I am running). 16 Cunning for Coercion, 26 Dexterity for all shield abilities, and the rest into strength. Personally I actually like this just as much as 2-handed. Building the SnS warrior this way, and you will be able to match the 2-handed in damage, and have better survivability - though you do give up stun and knockdown immunity.
I'm not sure that you actually will match a 2H in damage - I think you may well be better if this thread is correct: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/96/index/2761368. Also, you give up the ability to do a passive stun but you actually gain "on demand" disables since the 2H has pommel strike and sweep while the s/s warrior has the bash line. Finally, you do not give up knockdown immunity if you run with shield wall (which I think you generally should) and have shield expertise (and you you are going to be a s/s warrior you should have them). Just a few nits.
I like the s/s dex warrior (and according to the above thread it will actually be relatively close to the str build in terms of damage, if you use rose's thorn; I don't use a dagger though for rp reasons).
