SPOILER-

Javier and I even did some voice acting for it.

awesome... :wizard: ... Javier's in a game. B)and you are too...

how are the bioware studios?

Roomy AND cramped. But we had to take a trip to Los Angeles for the voice acting.

I guess BioWare is running low on voice actors, then.  Posted Image

But still, that's awesome, guys.

why would they fly you to LA if they don't have a studio there? Only US studio is Austin. Other ones are Canada and Ireland. Posted Image

unless they send you to EA....scream and run outta there...

Well when we are discusing Lair od the Shadowbroker DLC... I had a question on my mind which you maybe can answer. How it will be with final save from ME2? If there is DLCs with story after the final event, what will generate a new save? Or better question... Will it be resolved somehow? Sorry for stupid question.

If it takes more than 100 minutes to complete (on Insanity) I will be pleasantly surprised.

I think Bioware owes Javier some back pay for pseudo moderating/updating the old forums. This is a great way to pay back hahaha

Oh and to anyone getting pessimistic about the length of the DLC you really need to just look and what you are being told. The other ones (Overlord specifically) were about 2 hours. This one has been confirmed longer and is more expensive. They wouldn't jack up the price/MB's for 15 minutes-1/2 hour of extra content. 3 hours total would be my guess, maybe 4. Either way the point is we don't know.

Hey, all I know is I had to book a flight to LA and did it there.

Hell, Javi's still in LA. I came back at least.

Ahh, its good to be late to a party sometimes --- I can just download Overlord w/ the new DLC and I'll have 2 DLC's to go through.

Sometimes it pays to be the turtle in the race lol.

This is such a horrible release date for me. I go back to school on the 7th... Now I can't stay up till midnight to download it.

Yeah, it's unfortunate also because Witch Hunt, the very last and final DAO DLC is being released that very same day. In any case, it won't kill you to wait a few days, there always tends to be bugs/delays during DLC releases, especially if they're going to do two DLC s at once. But god willing, there won't be any snags.

Its unfortunate that my EMA won't go in until god-knows how long after the 7th, so I gotta wait to download both :'( Curse the British government and their giving free-money-to-students-but-not-when-I-need-it :(

I'll live. If we didn't do the voice acting in LA they would've sent us to London.

Well the question itself is interesting because....

If you really like the game, no length of time will be enough. Some even say that ME1 was too short --- ME2 was even shorter! The thirst for more content will make people just want more no matter if it was 4 hours or 8 hrs of content.

So its long as you want it to be.

I doubt they are charging more because it is supposed to be longer. I think they are charging more because of the significance of the story. It is bringing back a ME1 Love Interest with the potential to continue with, along with the fate of the Shadow Broker that we've known since ME1. They are charging more because it is a more "demanded" DLC, not because it is a longer DLC.

That is just my opinion though.

I am just setting my expectations to low. Bioware loves to use cool words and phrases for marketing purposes.

Personally, I hope this is a 4+ hour experience, but I doubt that. Maybe if this was released as 1600 MS Points then we might be onto something. But 800, that is only 240 points more than Overlord so I am not expecting much.

I agree with you. I think the price increase reflects
the fact this is a highly anticipated DLC.

Liara has a lot of fans who were disappointed with her ME2 appearance so of
course her return is going to be popular. Yes, it probably is the biggest DLC
they've done so far but the others were just over an hour long. I'm not
expecting a long mission but hopefully the quality of it makes up for that.
Hopefully. :?

I had no xbox live in Residence for university. Despite being the biggest ME fanboy ever I just downloaded all the DLC content. Made a new ME1 playthrough to do BDTS which I somehow forgot to DL all those years ago, then on to Overlord.. Kasumi... LoTS... Zaeed...

...

No, ME2 was not shorter.  Doing all the recruitment missions, loyalty missions, and the main quest missions takes longer than simply doing the main missions in ME1.  And the fact that ME2 was on two discs indicates that ME2 had more content on whole than ME1.

That is what people cannot understand. People think that just because some dev said that this is their "biggest" or "largest" DLC ever does not really mean large/big in terms of length, but rather large/big in terms of magnitude. Lair of the Shadow Broker could be only 2 hours but still be a BIG and LARGE DLC if you know what I mean.

Again, do not expect anything over 2 hours.

Wrong

If Lair of the Shadow Broker was 4-6 hours, I would buy Bioware some candy. If it is 2 hours, I wouldn't be upset because I never would have expected them to do a ME2 DLC that is 2+ hours.

I think people just want to believe this is a long DLC because they have been waiting for this type of DLC since before ME1 came out when Bioware kept on saying how the galaxy would be forever expanding through DLC. We didn't get that with Bring Down the Sky, Pinnacle Station, or Overlord. Finally with Lair of the Shadow Broker, we have the chance to have that one central DLC that is heavy with story, characters, choices, location, and even length. Unfortunately, this DLC will have all of that BUT the length.

You guys are in for a rude awakening. Come September 7th, you'll see that Bioware once again gave you another 2 hour DLC but charged you more for it. If you are expecting some Bethesda style Fallout 3 or GTA IV type DLC that expands the game 8+ hours, then you are in for a sad day September 7th.
