Anyway, I've just installed a bunch of mods manually, following the BiG World .pdf.
Now I did my first BiG World Mod installation last night, and realised it didn't install components I liked, so I decided to re-install it myself today, but manually.
I could play that game in normal mode yesterday, and I've been able to play it in normal mode always.
But after installing the mods today, suddenly I can only play it in windowed mode.
It's not crucial that I play it in normal mode, but has there ever been a fix for this?
I'm using less mods through the manual installation than the BiG World Mod installed.
Running Windows 7 64bit
Edit: Success! Literally after posting this I resolved the issue. Changed the resolution to 800 x 600, changed it from windowed mode to normal mode, ran the game, and it worked without minimising to desktop during the Black Isle opening. Changed it to my usual 1024 x 768, still kept it on normal mode, and it worked! How random you are Baldur's Gate.
