You know, nobody has thought of the real reason there are no horses in-game: how is a little dwarf wearing heavy armor ever going to mount it?

Because Dwarves ride mabari. You havent seen the videos yet?

Touché.

Unless done very well no I do not want horses. So far no game other than Mount and Blade have done them well.

I wouldn't mind having horses in the game but I'd suppose they'd have to enlarge the whole world zone, and have less time to make the lands richer in detail.

If the game world required you to walk from area to area, then hell yeah there should be horses. But if you just zone over to an area, then yeah it would be fairly pointless.

While I thought mounts were well done in Oblivion, they were more of a pain in the ass. The only game I've played where I've greatly enjoyed mounted combat was Mount & Blade, nothing else has come close to the fun you can have in that game.

I only know of one game that did horses right - Mount&Blade. For simple transportation, they are not necessary in a game like Dragon Age due to the lack of an open world.

I have yet to see a good game with good, working horses.

So I'm going to go ahead and say no. No. No.

they will add zombie kittens and bunnies before they can make a horse act like a horse in a game

I've only found mounts useful in games that have large worlds. MMOs being a good example. I would be pretty thrilled if I came across camel mounts in a game, no matter how useless they are.

2 Things:

1. Two Worlds sucked

2. Only if we pay extra for horse armor.

I, for one, would enjoy have horses as separate creatures. I don't want rideable horses, it doesn't match the scope of the areas, but I'd like to be able to use them for cutscenes and simulate caravans and such,

I agree with Awildawn. It would be nice to imply travel on them between cities in Ferelden. And have them in stables in an area, but you never "ride" them so to speak. Such as going to the stable, and when the horse is clicked it brings up the map for travel. Because seriously, would you really walk from Denerim to Redcliffe? I wouldn't if horses were available. But I guess in that sense there is no sense of time in most of DA:O.

This reminds me so much of old Neverwinter with questions like "Where are the horses, capes, cloaks, weather, skys, etc".

Oh and I saw someone saying that dwarves can't rise horses. Thats true, but everyone knows that most Dwarves ride ponies or miniature horses! At least thats what I have read in most D&D books, which soesn't quite apply to DA:O.

If anyone want combat horses, then "Mount and Blade" PC Game is you should looking for, in fact it's better ride horses than on foot, because you are more likely lose battle if you don't use horse but footman in that's game. Those are only one game of 3-D riding combat horse as knight. Game was great. So Horses is very, very useful in that's game, but Oblivion, Horse is useless in combat but fun no-combat riding in a while. Many game make those horse useless, not that's they are useless, it's just way most company make them useless, In Mount and Blade, they make footman useless but can be useful when taken over castle or town but open land, it's better to has army of knight over archer and footmen anytime, you should riding horse for more often winning. There is 2-D combat horse riding, but wasn't very good, I forget name of game. Mount and Blade is a best game for 3-D combat horse riding, hand down!
