Ok, so I'm level 8 and I'm trying to upgrade the warden's commander armor to dragonbone but for some reason I can't. I have sold all 3 pieces and exited and reentered the weaponsmith's inventory at least 30 times and it only goes as high as level 6 (silverite). Do I have to be at a higher level or should I keep on trying?

Wait, you can do that? *sigh*
It's the best looking armor in the game. I find the 'cylon' blood armor style utterly misplaced so I threw that in a garbage bin, but I did notice the lack of armor value eventually. Used it anyway, but still...

I agree with you and yes I dumped my Dragon Age bonus armor too. It looked ridiculous. The Commander armor is fantastic though.

Great, thanks Wintermist. So I'm guessing you need to be level 10 or 12 to upgrade the set to dragonbone?

i posted it in another thread, but you need to re-enter the areas, not just the merchants inventory...

Sophia's wearing it, you have to kill her to get it.

Just sell it to a merchant, re enter the area and it will upgrade according to your level. Of course you have to rebuy it for a higher price.

Yes it works with most armors and most sword. Some named items do not get upgraded though. But most stuff do. Just sell, press F5 for a quicksave, then press F9 for a quickload and buy it again.

All along I think, but remember that the armor will only upgrade according to your level so don't expect them all to turn into Dragonbone just like that.

I am glad the armor is bugged like that. It is IMHO the best looking armor in the game.

Is there also a helmet btw?

There is a Warden Helm model, but as far as I know there is no matching helm for the armor. The Set is just the body, hands and feet.

I agree about it being the best-looking armor. I saw it on Sophia and went "Whoa, I hope she drops that armor!" I'm glad the desire to kill her was so palpable because I wasn't going to leave her alive after I saw it.
btw, this is in the "Soldier's Peak" expansion for those who are lost right now.

I didn't notice any other armor upgrade when sold, besides the Warden's Armor. As a side note, though, you could go for Bergen's Honor or a Grey Warden Helm, they're both pretty solid and good-looking helms.

Hrmm its bugs like this that made all the armor in Oblivion pretty much useless, once you got the Armor of the 9 set, you just put it bank on its stand every level or 2 and it upgraded automatically, Its convienant but makes for bad balance
