Hi,

I was considering buying a new computer and was wondering if anyone could tell me how well NWN2 would run on the following computer:

Acer Aspire AS5551G-4280 NoteBook AMD Turion II Dual-Core P520(2.3GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

I think your only concern will be that video card.

Try to make sure you're getting an actual card, not "on board" or "shared" memory.

Reality is that pretty well any "entry level" computer in late 2010 should be able to run this 4+ year old game reasonably well, if you make sure that your video card is decent.

It should run fine, assuming you keep the shadows down in the game settings. I looked up the specs for that Radeon 5470 mobility, and I think its ok for this game, but keep in mind that it is an entry level video chip, albeit a faster one. If you want to use this laptop for playing latest eye-candy games, you may run into trouble. Otherwise, it seems pretty well rounded for this game, andthe system should serve you well.

Thanks for the info! I think NWN2 would be the most intensive thing I would want to run on that machine. As long as it will play well under a moderate setting I am happy.

__doug__ I routinely play NWN2 on my 3+ year old laptop. It's only a dual core 1.6 with 3 gb of ram and an actual dedicated 256 mb video card.

I don't play with everything on high, and it's fine. Nothing like being outside on the patio drinking a beer and playing some NWN2 in the summer!

I think the system you list will do fine, but I would again caution you to review the GPU specs.
