I won't hesitate from ripping my claymore through her from shoulder to hip. Let's see how she likes a bit of Holy Smite in the face.

:)Bow chicka wowow:)

Please tell me someone else twisted that into a euphemism.

I'm ashamed.:(

Oh my God :') Or should I say "Oh Maker!"??? Anyways, you have no idea how much this comment made me laugh :') And I think a Morrigan game would be too much like Bayonetta. Even though I do think Morrigan is absolutely awesome and one of the best characters. I just want to see my girlfriend and child. Jake Cousland didn't give up on her!!!

I do think that Morrigan is the most complex of all the companions but even that is not enough for her own game. Maybe she can be a major quest line though... or a really big DLC. What bothers me is that by going by the price ($7), it will be the same size as Leliana's DLC. Sorry for you Leliana lovers but Morrigan deserves a lot more than that.

You serious? A game revolving around motherhood?

Why not? The potential is obscenely immense, there is just an unwillingness to risk it.

I don't get how that picture relates to your point. Ripley is not her mother, nor was Ripley the only one risking her *** to save the kid.

Ironically in that picture, the heroine is going to attack the big mother alien who wants to protect her kids.

The picture is incredibly relevant to my point. Ripley might not have been Newt's biological mother, but the relationship she developed with her was based on maternal instinct over her own dead daughter. She has her "daughter" in one arm and a ginourmous gun in the other and is ready to unload it on a towering alien, partially to protect her. I'd say she's a hell of a mother.

All this to say that a game based on motherhood might not be changing diapers or singuing lullabies. There's a whole lot of potential there, because there's hardly anything more ferocious then a mother trying to protect her offspring.

Morrigan is an interesting character, and rightfully deserves a DLC due to her popularity.

But having her own game? Lets not get crazy now. It takes so much lore to make Dragon Age: Origins. There's not enough story to make it possible to have her own game. Unless the game developers put in a lot of "grinding" to waste time.

Merllle, I think the person you were talking to was referring to motherhood IN GAMES. What you linked was a movie, and no one was disputing it.
Even if motherhood is great in a movie, it doesn't necesarrily mean it will be good in games.
Just as how a game may be extremely popular, but if you make a movie out of it, the plot would be terrible. Name me one game that has successfully translated well into a movie.

I like Morrigan but a whole game on her? i do not think she would fit the role of main Protagonist verry well

but her story surely deserves more than just a $7 DLC

Mass Effect? lol well you have Kotor but I do not think that's the problem, good ideas can be translated in good games and movies, the problem is that a movie of a game or vice versa cannot be directed and produced by someone you hate them or do not play them.

A movie to be good have to be a sequel or prequel to that game because the experience that some had with that product will never be reproduced in a different media even if the movie or game are excellent.

For example the guys who did District 9, to me they should be doing the Mass Effect movie or even a Halo movie but never the story from the games but a thing only base in that world. About the idea of motherhood well you have indie games, it proves that any idea can work it just have to be a good game.

Severel other of the characters protected Newt... carried her around... and risked their life for her. Ripley was just the only one left standing. Just because she has a vagina doesn't make her releationship with Newt any diffrent then Hick's releationship with Newt. It's just a person protecting an innocent kid, very common in movies and games.

She's not a mother, she's not LIKE a mother to Newt. She's a good person.

Like Resident Evil 4 for example... Leon isn't whats her name's father or even like her father just because he's saving her.

The potential for a fully epic tale involving Morrigan and her child is shot down with this upcoming dlc, or so it seems.  We are tying up all loose ends and it makes me sad.

She was my favorite character.

And though I'm sure that she was your favorite character, I felt that she was a horribly dressed, poorly characterized tramp.  Here's hoping that we get to skewer her,

This is quickly turning into an Aliens discussion. I think people do have different perceptions and point of views and that's yours and it's perfectly valid. Although, in my perception, the relationship that Ripley formed with Newt was very motherly  - it's no coincidence that Ripley learnt of the death of her daughter at the beggining of the film and that Newt lost her parents practically at the same time - the film points that way. Having a vagina or a lack of one doesn't play the main point in here. Naturally there were more people defending her, but Ripley took the ultimate stance and the nature of the formed relationship is slightly different. But that was my interpretation of the film. And said interpretation was used as an example that, altough I do not agree with a game revolving around Morrigan, a game where motherhood plays a significant role, doesn't have to be necessarily boring, but it's an idea automatically put aside.
