These are video tutorials dedicated in giving you a better understanding on how to use the toolset. First video includes many of these first steps in making your first module.

Creating first module and exporting it to game.
Creating multiple areas and linking them via area transitions method.
How to bring in pre-created areas using the area layout.
Adding in placeables and grouping them with sound emitters.
Learn how to navigate with the Camera within the area viewport.
Waypoints.
What are pathing points and how to turn them on?
And much more!

Note this will not show you how to make a level (not yet anyway) from scratch but touch on some things to help you have better understanding of the toolset. Most of this was taken from the toolset wiki put in a video tutorial form.

Since these are video and larger than what the Bioware Social Network can handle. I am uploading them to another site. Get the first video here:

First mirror: http://www.filefront...on1_basics.zip/
Second mirror: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBJTTO6P

For all others when they are released go to the discussion boards of this project to download them.

Not bad at all. Very helpful to have it in video form. I too followed the tutorial on the wiki and when I opened the interior area was unable to alter any aspect of it, and was unable to see the "hook" to which attach the door. Perhaps I had it checked in?

I would also ask if this toolset export conflicted with your main Dragon age game? It caused me party problems when I exported.

Regardless I want to thank you for making this and I look forward to the next vid. Keep it up!

Just make sure you are not editing the single player campaign or have the single player campaign linked to your model and you should have no problems with it effecting your single player campaign.

There are some issues where the Toolset had older variables then what the game had shipped with that could cause some issues if you have anything that directly effects the single player campaign. It is something they are looking into.

Great work dude, I second the suggestion to post it on Youtube, I think more people will take advantage of it that way.

I haven't looked at your tutorials yet but good job, something that was needed. I wanted to create a couple for release of the toolset but I simply did not have the tools to make one. Or if I did I didn't know how. What program(s) did you use for your tutorial?

I used camtasia studio  and fraps for the ingame stuff then rendered the videos using the .mp4 format. Camtasia wasn't cheap but I bought it while ago to do stuff like this.

I've just released a small video tutorial before going on to the second part. It's better to mention it now then later as it can effect your entire module.

Me again:

I followed your vid and got it all to work and play - except that once again the export screwed up my main game, specifically the camp and party dialogue. As you are obviously working in the toolset, how are you avoiding this? Is your My Docs_Mod_Single Player folder renamed?

I have been working in a new mod since the beginning but am still getting conflicts with the game once I export. What was your solution to still building but not wrecking your game?

Thanks, going to watch vid 1b now.

What you want to do is this go to:

My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Modules

From there you should see a folder that says Single Player delete folder.

Next you want to do is go into the toolset go to File > Manage Modules > "The module you are working on" > Click on Hierarchy.. button > uncheck Single Player from this window.

Close those windows out.

Close out any remaining area windows that you have opened so that there is nothing on your workspace then go to Tools > export > Click on "empty export directories." After all that it should work that is what I have done to get my game to function properly.
