I think you would be killed for that. People have killed for less, like not being able to get their McDonald Chicken Nuggets because they were serving breakfast.

You know what, I actually believe you. I am in fact of the opinion you have the entire plot piloting towards that exact disaster.

The problem is you won't guarantee that it is not so... (which in itself is very scary) out of your sense of "Humour".

The entire sleeping Gods and Fade make me wonder to no end that DA universe is actually someone's dream. I will be damned if it turns out so.

I can see it now.. Hawke defeats the final level of the dream, and wakes up in a burning lothering and is promptly riddled with arrows and bolts. Then it cuts to the camera panning away from Hawkes lifeless body as the VA narrates about the nature of life, how fleeting existence is, and how not everyone can be a hero.

Cut to Morgan Freeman sitting in a chair reading from a Dragon Age script, before cashing a Voice over cheque.

I read a Dev comment (now impossible to find and I think it was either Mike or David) saying that "Don't get existential just yet".

Better: Bethany is adopted and the key to the black city. All character's memories were modified.

That's a step above M. Night Shyamalan writing the script. Then we'd get a "Oh...the Darkspawn just vanished, let's build a farm!" ending.

Bethany turns out to be your mother, Bethany is really your father, the main character saves bethany at the end but gets knocked out. They get rescued by some of their friends and taken to an inn so the doctor can look them over. The main character says he has to brush his teeth, he goes into the bathroom and starts squeezing the toothpaste into the sink and starts laughing manically and starts saying how's bethany? how's bethany? and he keeps laughing and he looks into the mirror and we see Flemeth's face looking back smiling devilishly, roll credits.
