When Varric finishes his story, Cassandra eventually realises that it was Hawke who was the Archedemon, Varric is asked to testify against Hawke. He refuses, and limps his way out the door, sobbing and crying.

Dissapointed Cassandra drinks her coffee in front of the message board in the office - suddenly, she freezes, shocked, and drops her coffee mug (it breaks). When looking at the message board, Cassandra realised that Varric's story, from the beginning to the end, was completely made-up, mastermind, when Varric first gazed at the board. Each name from the story, Such as Bethany, Carver and others were actually a memo or a page appearing on the board. The whole story was made up by Varric.

Cassandra looks down to the broken cup, and it reads -"Hawke has a giant beard" thats the name of the cup's manufacturer

Cassandra rushes outside to capture Varric, as an eyewitness sketch of the archdemon arrives at the station. The sketch perfectly resembles...Varric. Outside, Varric limps his way through the crowded street, when suddenly his foot straightens and his 3 "Paralyzed" fingers come to life. He ignites a cigarette and enters the limouzine (wierd thing is that cars don't even exist in Dragon Age) where his lawyer, "Flemeth", picks him up.

As Varrics car disappears on the Horizon, Cassandra stands in the street, frantically searches for Varric.

"The Greates trick the Archdemon ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." says Varrics Voice over as the screen turns black - "And like that...He's Gone."

This twist has never been done before, right?......nevermind....

Ahh, another thread just reminded me of this one...

The main antagonist approaching the protagonist disguised by spelling his name backwards. Sarevok/Koveras.

Well I was ninja'd, so my new worst possible plot twist is: the antogonists are conspiring with the Darkspawn, so Hawke has to become a Grey Warden and he ends up fighting an archdemon that's bigger and badder than Dumat.

Have to agree that Bethany getting kidnapped, or even worse, just being portrayed as helpless without you would ruin the games plot.

After beating the game once  Hawke wakes up and realizes it was all dream.

After waking up Hawke decides to actually do it so you have to beat the whole game again.

But before you kill the final boss for the second time  the whole planet gets destroyed to make way for an intergalactic highway system and Hawke doesn't have a towel

You climb the stairs to an ancient temple, your foe and his underlings stand there looking down at you as you and your party ascend the stairs. Hawke with the might sword-spear in hand, compatriots at his side finally reach the top. Your nemesis starts to walk forward, then out of the blue, it turns into a dance-off. Hawke rips off his beard and reveals himself to be Kevin Bacon from Footloose.

Worst twist ever.

Hawke has amnesia and Varrick started telling stories to help her/him remember his/her past.

Amnesia - helping drive bad plots since 1066.

D: Oh lord, no!

Anyway, I was thinking anything along the lines of ...
Hawke is a ghost.
Hawke's best friend is the enemy.
The Darkspawn are aliens.
Kirkwall is an isolated village within a village.
The trees really are the true enemy.
Hawke's beard is possessed by the devil. Or Flemeth. Either or.

M. Night really does have some great material ...
