This is honestly my biggest fear for DA2. That Beth is only a cheap story vehicle to get the player to go places and do stuff. 

I actually have a sneaking suspicion that we will have to rescue Bethany at some point.

As for my contribution to the list of terrible plot twist ideas...

Bethany will turn out to be... not the real Bethany, but someone disguised as her. Flemeth or some mage person, whoever, will have shapeshifted into Hawke's sister so they could spy on Hawke and manipulate him/her into following a certain path. The real Bethany will either be dead or being held captive somewhere the whole time... (like Mad-Eye Moody in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ).

The end boss is Sten. He never went home this whole time he was gathering info on humans to better their attack. And somehow while he was hidding between Dragon age 1 and Dragon age 2 he grew horns?

After waking up Hawke decides to actually do it so you have to beat the whole game again.

But before you kill the final boss for the second time  the whole planet gets destroyed to make way for an intergalactic highway system and Hawke doesn't have a towel

Shepard is Hawke's father and Hawke was sent back in time in an accident to change history as well as provide a means to stop the Reapers

You find out Hawke is the great, great, great, great, 5 more greats, grandson of the Warden who was sent to the past to deter/prevent the apocalyptic future that Hawkes real parents live in. He was sent into the past using advance magic/technology. He is found as a baby of a few months old in the forest by his foster parents who never told him the truth.

You gaze up and see an odd looking metal object with the name "Normandy". You gasp and another probe falls directly on Hawke, killing him.

You encounter the final boss with his back to you. He/she slowly turns towards you then the words "To be continued" go on the screen.

The endgame boss falls for Hawke during the final confrontation and they end up in bed. Hawke becomes the Champion of Kirkwall. The end.

For that to work they'd have to give us a reason to want to go there and do that stuff.  Bethany asking us isn't sufficient.

Because, as David Gaider has said, we're not forced to care about her.  DA2 doesn't assume Hawke has any affection for Bethany.

A giant unfinished golem mixed with human flesh as the last boss for DA2.

You have to break the glass containers that hold the human flesh it needs to complete.

Unfortunately the golem keeps placing rocks to protect them while occasionally spewing rocks mix with human juices at you.
