The entire story is made up by Varric on the spot. Hawke is really the name of his pet nug.

Really though, this thread isn't even baseless conjecture. It's just bad jokes. I wonder why it hasn't been locked yet.

Pulling a LOST on DA2 would be the worst imo.

Add questions for 8 years and then still fail to answer most of them in any sensible way?

I'd like for my PC to actually HAVE a family that doesn't get killed in the beginning and stays with you throughout the story (bonus points if he/she stays throughout and is affected and potentially influenced by your actions as well as can develop romances with other characters whether you approve or disapprove, that truly is role playing).
Aside from that the romanceable female lead is a pretentious woman that looks down on people (but has emotional insecurity issues) and that the romanceable male lead is some sort of generic, whiny, carbon copy good boy. Of course such characters are well written but overdone.

I had wondered that, honestly. Just in passing, but the thought had crossed my mind.

You kill the Warden. That would SERIOUSLY ****** me off...
. . . wondered this, too. I know it's extremely unlikely, but I did ponder on the way to work the other day if any game could be so evil as to make you fight or kill a previous characters that you'd created.
It's been said already, but I truely can't think of anything that would be more infuriating than " and it was all a dream." Never, ever has that been used well, in my opinion. It's just cruel to make people care about something only to tell them it was basically little better than a hallucination.

Warror: Hawke weighs all of 115 lbs if he's a guy and 80 lbs if she's a girl. He/she can hardly lift a sword.
Rouge: Morbidly obese. Has a hard time sneaking up on anything not filled with cream.
Mage: Actually a mentally deficient dwarf who can only say "Enchantment".

here's a plot twist. The hawke that we play doesnt exist and that the actual hero is Varric. Actually that would be sweet.

out you actually had to keep Carver alive because he was the only one
able to warn you of rocks that fall and kill everyone. This is spelled out to you in the most patronizing/smug words possible in a text box, ala Space Quest.
-
Varric's storytelling is subject not only to his exaggeration but
occassional drunken rambling. For Hawke, this boils down to entire
episodes as a nug (distinguished by a beard, irrespective of gender),
fighting darkspawn nuglocks and romancing Leiliana's leg in explicit
cutscenes (again irrespective of gender).
- The one or two things you
really wanted in DA2 above all else, seem to be somehow included ...
but whenever you try to make use of them, the narrative cuts back to
Varric, where he says 'that's another story ... [Access downloadable
content] "
Sorry, I actually can't think of anything totally serious.

Hawke's father will be revealed to be the mute chanter at Lothering. Bethany will be only his half-sister. Her father will be Uldred. Carver's father will be revealed to be Maric (why not?). None of the above will be a legal male guardian of the Siblings. That (Their Mother's legal husband) will be finally shown to be Richard Gere.
Hawke will be given an option to be a Wise, semi-religious, Loyal and Honest character who can maintain his morality in a Dark twisted world. Playing otherwise will not grant you the hidden ending where he unites with the Warden to search and annihilate all the remaining Old Gods before they start the Blight.
Morrigan's story will come to a end with the Witch-hunt DLC. Bioware will never mention her again. All the saves that contain the Male Warden romancing Morrigan will automatically be corrupted and you will not be able to present any evidence to the fact that you actually romanced her and went in search for her; thus eliminating any need to cater to straight male populous. All LIs hence forth will only be bi-sexual or ******-sexual in vogue with reality.
A new Monk class will be revealed that will take out the High dragon with one fatal punch if the dragon fails on Physical, Mental and Spiritual saves at once. This punch will have a cooldown of 5 seconds and will be sustained action as well. To balance such odds, the DC will be decided by Willpower, Strength, Dexterity (to hit chance) and Magic simultaneously, Thus to make the character powerful you will need to Gimp him.

You're about to deliver a finishing blow to the last boss and as you swing, a giant probe falls from the heavens and drains all minerals in the area leaving it a barren wasteland. You gaze up and see an odd looking metal object with the name "Normandy". You gasp and another probe falls directly on Hawke, killing him.
Roll credits.
THIS. FTW.
They should include this as an easter egg.
