This is the last that we will "SEE" of the Warden, I'm sure their mention him/her in every game to come after, but they will never show the Warden after this DLC, because it just wouldn't work. What would they show? Male/female? What color hair? What class? What specializations? What color eyes/tattoo? They can't create the Warden, because the Warden looks like whatever you make him/her to look like. This it the last of the Warden, so it's assumable that he/she may die in this DLC. It would be cool to kill Morrigan though... or at least have that option.

Last Warden? uhh no.

I wish we always got a mage. One in Golems would have been handy.

@serjwolf I think night0205 meant the last of the "Warden" as we know him/her from Origins. Obviously, Hawke and others will have ties to the wardens, but the "Warden" is not going to have any additional affects except the impact of events from the original title.

You're not going to be able to kill Morrigan. End of story. Here's why:

Morrigan has a lot of depth to her character: her upbringing and unique outlook on the world, her own ambitions and agendas, her character flaws. And though she is never entirely forthcoming about the details of her life, she has never demonstrably lied. She has a great deal of character development over the course of DA:O, if you bother to get to know her. This sense of mystery, combined with her relationship with Flemeth (a major player, apparantly), makes her a complex and interesting character.

Some people don't like complexity. It scares and confuses them. They prefer a simple story, with clearly defined good and bad. These are the sort of people that think that Alistair is a pansy, Sten is a two-dimensional brick wall, Oghren is a stereotypical drunk, Wynne is a nagging old lady, Loghain is pure evil, etc. If that's how they choose to play through the game, that's fine, but these people need to understand that their inability to appreciate a well-written work of fiction does not mean that it will be dumbed down to their preferences.

Morrigan has considerably more potential to her character than any remaining character from Origins, except for perhaps Flemeth. She may even develop into the foil of Flemeth. They aren't going to end her story with a $7 DLC after putting all of that work into her.

From a metagaming perspective: as someone mentioned earlier, Bioware isn't going to bring in a big-name actress like Claudia Black to voice a few lines for a cheap DLC that won't be purchased by all owners of DA:O.

Great post here.  Exactly how I feel about the characters.  There's more to them than the stereotypes most pin them to.  Especially Morrigan in this case.  Bioware really understands the shades of gray concept well.  The whole good vs. evil is timeless, but not always realistic.

PS Is the elf companion for the DLC a rogue or warrior?  I see people here say female dalish rogue yet I read she is a warrior on the official description.  In that case then the last companion but be a dwarven rogue by the trend set already.  IDK maybe I missed something...

If the elf is a warrior, that hidden companion had best be a rogue, or some people won't be opening locked chests and doors

Well, you sorta'  have one.  I mean, what else can you call a companion that flames your weapons, hurls chain lightning, heals the Party, etc.?

OK, so it didn't talk much.  (As a golem, Shale was exceptional in that way too!  Image IPB)
