Edit:
Some facts I've gatherd .Please keep them coming so bioware will know what to improve on and what to focus on .
- Women like Allistair because some womemen find him adoreable and cute at the most trempling moments.
- The story LOTS OF IT
- The lore ( so baically the same reason why lots of women liked LOTR intressting)
- Customizable characte ( Not sure if it has something to do with races)
- Being able to be a part of the major events
- Adventuring through the story
- Learning what makes the characters tick,
- Coming across mysteries
- Duncan and Tegan ( was it the beard
-CONE OF COLD and then shattering them (one of my favouritt spells aswell
- Some women like Zevren and sten
- The fighting ( Killing darksawn) to relax at some momtents like job, school, and free time.
- The abiltiy to play as women
- Very good characters and I mean really good something like Allistair and Morrigan.( not that others are bad)
- Loghain getting ironic justice
- Social interaction between characters
- Replay value
- The famous dog (sadly no cat so what if they had cats and dogs would that attract more women?)
And some quotes that have very intressting opinon

I never killed Loghain. :x I thought making
him into a Warden (and ulitmatly redeeming himself) was the most
fitting ending to the whole story.
+ Hardend Alistair and Anora made a good and fitting couple.

Oh God, nooooo.
Both my mother and I hated Alistair. He was nice at first, but by the
end I wanted to kill him. He was touchy, whiney, and self-righteous.
I was thouroughly fed up with talking about his feelings. That was one of the things I liked about Zevran, actually. He had feelings, but he sure didn't like to talk about them.
What I did like
was the customizable character (being able to play a female character
is a HUGE plus), the lore, and being able to decide the course of major
events (whom to put on the throne, do the Dark Ritual or not, etc).

And I'm complete
agreement with you both here. I could not abide his endless whining; all
his "woe is me, my hero died... woe is me, I don't want to be king...
woe is me, I'm a bastard..." - there's a Slap Morrigan mod
(another character whose endless pissing and moaning and
holier-than-thou-attitude got right up my nose), now someone make a Punch Alistair mod, and I might play this game again...
That and his comeon technique was the most pathetic I've heard since highschool. Ugh... you are so not getting in me, Alistair...
As
for the things I liked, I'm in total agreement there also - the scope
of the story, the richness of the world, and the fact you really felt
like you were shaping the events within the world. I just could have
done without the thumbsucking man-child and the snotty cow who should
put more clothes on.... why couldn't we have romanced a real man like
Sten?

What is it about allistair beside him showing his feeling and been a total weak loser ../../../images/forum/emoticons/bandit.png that makes him so acractive
[quote]Captain Hex wrote...
I don't know why you would call him weak. He's a warrior who has been
training for a good part of his life. That hardly screams weak to me. He
took on Loghain didn't he? As for why women like him, I can only speak
for myself. I like him because he's cute and adorably awkward. A man
appears more genuine when he is stumbling over his own words a little,
and his interest seems more genuine when he gets a little shy around
you. I'm not a fan of the puffed up lady's man who sounds like he's
reading the same script he read to every other woman and is obviously
waiting for you to start panting and fall into bed with him. Plus he's
genuinely nice and has emotions as opposed to a disinterested cardboard
cutout, which is by the way how men appear who don't show their
feelings. It does not make them appear strong or like a winner.

Yeah I like him too

Women do like Sten and Zevran as well. But, to be honest, I don't find either
of them to be particularly romantic. They seem more the type to simply
let you know that they are interested, and if you share that interest
you're in for a wild time. Which can be fun for some women. Alistair, on
the other hand would like to woo you and fawn over you... He just
doesn't know how. So he makes stupid jokes and blushes a lot and gives
you roses. And it's adorable.

You want to know why I prefer Zevran as a m/m LI? Or why I like his character?
Well,
if we take Alistair and Zevran - the elf definitely wins in my books.
He is experienced, he is funny and he doesn't shy away from the fact
that he likes and enjoys sex. And of course the ability to woo him as a
male was a dealbreaker for me.
I dunno, I guess I have a thing for dashing rogue bisexuals. *looks dreamily at Leliana* [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie] [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie] [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie]
And
here comes my question: why no one mentioned f/f romance yet?
Discovering the fact that I can romance Leliana with my FemCousland was
such a pleasant surprise! And with all great characters and the lore and
DA settings and origins, I think this wonderfully written romance is
the main reason I adore this game.

I really enjoy Dragon Age. I find
most of the characters compelling. I love the story and the
interaction/immersion in the world. I too find hacking and slashing a
great release from a day of tedium at work.
Alistair is my
favorite love interest. I do not find Alistair whiny. He is open and
sincere and not hung up on being macho or manly. This does not make him
weak. I get way to much male ego and posturing in real life, and am
happy to not have to deal with testosterone induced confrontations in my
free time. Zevran always creeps me out a little. Yes. He is suave
and attractive, but he is also cold and calculating. I just can't
"warm" to that type of personality.
Addendum: It always bothers
me that people get upset when Alistair gets angry at sparing Loghain.
Loghain was responsible for killing Alistair's father figure and all of
his friends. He let his king die. He allowed slavery, torture, and
nearly destroyed everything that made Ferelden, Ferelden. Then you
decide to let Loghain live and call Alistair whiny and self righteous
for objecting. I find this consistent lack of empathy for your comrade
in arms both sad and disturbing.[/quote]
