No, no I meant no such thing.... I only want to find a reason and this is all I got so far lol

Plus I want to support for what ever reason women like Dragon age

Well, what do YOU like about Dragon Age, specifically? I read reviews of the first game by mostly male writers and really, the things they praised are the reasons I liked it. Women aren't incomprehensibly different from you. Really.

Maybe not incomprehensibly different, but everytime I get close to understand I get a real bad headache and all effort is lost.

I'm curious about something.

Are there any options for women to express their interest in characters at all? Would any women prefer to have that option?

I know that for the male romances you have specific options to let the women know you are interested before they show any interest in you.

Alistair, and we will never really understand why.

This.

I go to lengths (well not really, just mods), so Alistair can't dump me after Landsmeet. Muahaha.

Women are not all the same. Some like different things than others. My sister can't stand Zevran, and thinks Sten is boring and ugly. My mom thinks Zevran is cute but wishes he didn't kill people for a living. My niece likes Sten. I'm pretty sure they would all walk through fire if Alistair was on the other side with a rose, though.

Yes, it is standart procedure. There is always a line you pick or don't that enters romance mode. Maybe only exception is Morrigan who wants to sleep with you after you give her the old book with Flemeth's secret rituals.

Oh God, nooooo.  Both my mother and I hated Alistair.  He was nice at first, but by the end I wanted to kill him.  He was touchy, whiney, and self-righteous.  I was thouroughly fed up with talking about his feelings.  That was one of the things I liked about Zevran, actually.  He had feelings, but he sure didn't like to talk about them.

What I did like was the customizable character (being able to play a female character is a HUGE plus), the lore, and being able to decide the course of major events (whom to put on the throne, do the Dark Ritual or not, etc).

EDIT:  Forgot to add, as annoying as some of the characters are, I found them interesting and fun.  Characters can make or break a game for me.  And romances are a ton of fun. ;)

You can do this as a female character. I guess you could argue that some interest is shown by the various LIs in the form of flirty lines before you get those dialogue options, but you can express interest very early on.

You can also hit on Duncan and Teagan and several other NPCs throughout the game.

Edit:

Some facts I gatherd . Please keep them coming so bioware will know what to improve on and what to focus on .

- Women like Allistair because some womemen find him adoreable and cute at the most trempling moments.

- The story

- Some women like Zevren and sten

- The fighting ( Killing darksawn) to relax at some momtents like job, school, and free time.

- The abiltiy to play as women

LOL. Why does it keep you up night and day? Why do YOU like Dragon Age? Posted Image

I love adventuring through the story, learning what make the characters tick, coming across mysteries, and shattering everyone who gets caught in my Cone of Cold. Posted Image Actually, one of the most satisfying aspects of DA:O? Developing successful strategies in tough fights

Alistair is hot, yes. He's also real about his emotions, which turns a lot of 14 year old boys off - an automatic win/win.

Finally a woman that understands! I hated Alistair for those exact reasons. At first I was like "Ok, this guys going to be cool." It all changed as soon we got to Lothering.

I love the fact that I can play as a character who looks and acts like I do, and being able to influence the story is awesome. Plus, Alistair is so adorable!

Good characters, a good story, funny jokes, getting to play as a woman that can hold her own in a fight and in life in general, an epic soundtrack, freedom of choice, an interesting lore...
Pretty much the same stuff men like about the game, just maybe in a different way? I don't really know since I'm not a man and can't say what I would like about it if I were one.
But I agree with Anarya, women aren't incomprehensibly different from men.

As for why I prefer Alistair over Sten or Zevran: Sten is too stoic to be interesting for me in a romantic way and Zevran, I don't know, I never tried to romance him, but he just seemed too casual at the beginning. I was unimpressed by his flirting and his demenaor in general. He made for a great friend, but romantically he just didn't appeal to me or my character.

I don't see why woman liking Alistair is weird or odd, you have just as much obsessive guys who like Morrigan.

Story. Lots of it. Characters. Good ones.

Honestly, there's only a few things in the game that girls are going to appreciate more then guys because they're girls, and that's the female romances. I know for a fact guys like romances just as much as girls, even when they pretend not to.

Also, seconding all of this. :wizard:

And I'm thirding it.

While I also am a big fan of Alistair, I have to say.. the story and the characters as a whole are what get me interested. I love connecting the dots between the NPCs and past events and all those codex entries. I love the cultures, the tensions, the way the world just feels so.. realistic.

Even though it is a dark fantasy, there are heaps of laughable moments and dialog. The characters all have their strengths and weaknesses, their ambitions, their demons, their motivations.. etc. etc.

Really, it's just a believable world that is fun to learn about. No one piece of the game makes it great, it's how all those pieces come together to create the overall bigger picture that makes it stand out.

I don't know if there is anything I am particularly fond of just because I am a woman though.. I suspect there are plenty of men that appreciate the game for all the same reasons I do.

Since women are different, we each have different reasons for playing Dragon Age. That, and there might be more than one reason for doing so. For me, I enjoy the story and the lore, friendships/relationships with party members, and hacking things to bits with a sword (and these are only three things. The list could go on as to why I love this game/plan on loving the second).

First off, the story is intriguing and the amount of background information shows how much work the team put in to creating an entire world (which isn't easy). I think it really adds to the complexity of Thedas, and allows the player to feel the world come to life around them.

Secondly, since I am indeed female and need to express it, I love the friendships and relationships one can forge in the game. Isn't it more rewarding and fulfilling at the end of DA:O when all your party members tell you what a difference you've made in their lives? The emotional investment makes the whole thing more realistic. Romances further add to that emotional investment. Like with Alistair, telling the player that she's special to him in his adorably awkward way, or Morrigan trying to convince herself that she doesn't care for the player.

And thirdly, who doesn't love the gory violence of Dragon Age? It's really quite relieving after a long day working to go home and hack away (or backstab/mage away, depending on which class) at the endless hordes of darkspawn.

Hm, didn't mean for this to turn into a full-blown essay, but there you have it.

Heh if I am honest, I liked Alistair up to the point at the landsmeet where he loses sympathy of most people I think. I guess that's what you mean by self-righteous as well. So I would be one who actually likes him myself to that point, but I never looked at him the same after this. He turned from funny to dumba...
