I have found four drake scales and one dragon scale so I went to the armourer in Denerim to have him craft me armor, first he said he could only cract the drake scales so I had him do that afterwards though he said it was rubbish and he could do better so I went back and asked for him to make more, the first set used two so I figured the second set would take two as well.  However when I talk to him it says that I need more scales, where can I find thm *I think* I completely cleared the caves and I only found four, are there more than that? If so where can I find them?

I believe there are 6 in the caves there. I also found two in the mage tower and one in a random encounter.



This is on xbox, possibly different for pc because someone said they didn't find any in the mage tower, but I don't know.

I'm level 21 and haven't found any drake scales anywhere.

None in the mage tower for me. There's 6 if you go the champion route at that temple. There's 7 if you go the Reaver route and then kill them all after they make you a reaver. (There's another drake outside) The armor sucks though really. Fire res would only be remotely handy for two fights, hardly worthwhile.

You're forgetting that if you wear the entire set, there's a good sized reduction on the cost of using your talents (or rather, a good sized reduction in fatigue, which is what determines the overall cost of using your talents), and a bonus to your defense. I think that applies to all the sets, but if it doesn't, it at least applies to the Wade's Superior Dragonskin set.

If you pay for them, you also get a bonus to stamina regen I believe.

Not necessarily that I'm forgetting it, it's that it can't stack up to the other armor sets in the game. The Fatigue redux isn't enough to offset the fact that a good set of armor will have several stat boosts on it. Which are handy for all fights. Those sets come with item set bonuses of their own, some with the same fatigue redux of the drake/dragonscale.

hmmmm, I found 4 but only 2 were made into armor before his assistant stoped talking to me (couldnt even buy and sell there anymore)

I had enough scales to make 2 drake scale armors. I think you find them in the mage tower when you are walking in the fade and figuring out the puzzle with the golem form, rat form etc ... the other drakes I encoutered in the temple of Andraste. In adition when you kill the Dragon you get a dragon scale.

I play the pc version.

EDIT: there are drakes in the mage tower but they didnt drop scales on scnd playthrough.
