After sleuthing through the sound clips in Near Infinity, I stumbled across Hide in Shadow, Pickpocket and Set Snare specific sound clips for Cernd, Valygar and Edwin.
Now Valygar I can understand, because maybe he was originally a thief in earlier development, but changed to Stalker later on.
It makes no sense for Cernd to have them, his sound clips reference nature in one way or another, implying a Druid or Ranger.
And Edwin? What?
They're all humans so can dual class if they have the correct stats, which only Valygar does, and besides, Stalkers can't dual class to Thief. Mayhap they were going to add in special snares for Druids/Rangers ... and Mages? Although this would mean Aerie. Minsc and Jaheira would have the sound sets too, and they don't. Jan, Nalia and Imoen are all covered because they're already Thieves.
The mind truely boggles.

As we found out in the other thread, many characters did not maintain their original class through the developing process. Xan was changed from fighter to mage because his soundset (so he was already voiced at that point) was the only one that could work with a mage.
With that in mind, these additional sounds are not that out of place anymore, are they?

Well I doubt they would have changed Edwin, after all he was a Mage in the first game, why would he become a Thief in the next game?

I don't know. He is involved with the Shadow Thieves, so maybe they thought about dualclassing him?

This is true, do you think they were going to give his Thief abilities? Interesting ....
