Arwen is Half-Elven.  The Union of an elf with a human produces a half-elven child.

Interesting. Also, if they had an Elven Female Love Interest character with Arwen's personality I'd quite like that too. She seemed like quite an interesting character.

Indeed.  :)

Adorable. I watched the movie yesterday afternoon and thought this scene was affectionate. ^_^

Not in this setting!  In Thedas, Elf + Human = Human

*SPOILERS for the Calling*
I'm in the camp that Alistair is the son of the elven mage Maric fools around with in The Calling

Uhm, how odd?!  In J.R.R. Tolkien's world, they are alive and thriving.  Who knows...  Maybe some of Alistair's descendent s (If he is able to do so... but due to the taint tha is quite quaint.) will be Half-Elvens and look it, too (wishful thinking in the world of Thedas, I know, but it is feasible).

I actually find it ironic as I was watching the film, I was thinking "there should be a female elf love interest in Dragon Age." Haha, now I've found this thread! Nice. :D

@ 7th_Phoenix,

Yeah, only if the "writing team" at Bioware would take a look at this thread and be inspired by it (Arwen's personality included), now that would be intriguing and something to really look forward to in the upcoming, DA IIImage IPB

Yes. I agree. That would certainly be something to look forward to; however, I can't help but be negative and think that maybe they've already settled on the story by now. Unless they work on the story as they go... oh, but still... :pinched:

(i need to be more positive!)

The ever-knowing Wikia states that "the children of elves and humans are always human." Which answers a lot of questions about half-elves and stuff in Dragon Age.

"... But still..." it is something to  consider.  :P

Anyway, the writers at Bioware are very active on this forum, and according to certain interviews giving to Eurogamer and other online gaming sites, the fine team at Bioware is still looking for inspiration from us fans.

So, if an idea is plausible, sensible and logical, I am sure they will consider it.

They did three in Baldur's Gate 2: Aerie, Jaheira and Viconia.

I too would enjoy a female elven love interest, but it is a bit...cliche. However, I do recall Gaider saying that what BioWare wanted to do with Dragon Age was to create a world for us, the players, full of the the same classic ideas of fantasy but presented in a new light and of course adding some things of their own. Given BioWare's ability at creating supreme dialogue and story, I see no reason as to why not include an elven romance. I know it is a bit overdone, but I think they are more than able to make it refreshing, new and awesome......If this is the case then please, no more Zevran. He was good, but only as a companion

But, they have stated that all the lines for DA2 are already recorded, which makes it impossible to add an elven romance if there isn't already one...So, we can only wait and see.

Hell yes! I want Iona to miraculously appear, or the arranged marriage elf whose name I have forgotten from the Elf Male origin!

Arwen is Half-Elven.  The Union of an elf with a human produces a half-elven child.

Arwen was an Elf because her father Elrond had chosen to be counted amongst Elves, making all his descendants Elves at birth. His brother Elros had chosen to be counted as a human, making all his descendants (Aragorn among them) human at birth.

Elrond's parents, Elwing & Eärendil, were among the first children of elven-human unions, and were forced by the Valar (the Powers in Tolkien's setting) to make a choice of the race they'd belong to.

Make her bisexual (but not like Zev, we don't need another Zev), and I'll support this. :)

Well, a female with Zevran's personality might attract a lot of guys, buy you're right, I'd prefer something different.

 Now thats a mental image I am so NOT thankful for.

So, more or less Oghren with Elf ears and a nice figure? :P

That doesn't sound so bad come to think of it....

I don't know what mental image you got. But when I think of a Female version of Zevran I'd imagine it'd be a sort of girl who wants sleep with everyone and flirts with everyone.

I'm not sure why we're talking about this. Any child born of an elf and a human in Thedas is always human.

I think they're talking about Tolkien Elves, not Dragon Age elves.
