Well EA/BioWare gave all of the fanboys their girls with Morrigan/Leliana dlc, and of course the fangirls of Alistair/Zevran got ignored again! Image IPB  I guess female players aren't important enough, since they do cater to male players.

Haha, quite true!  I guess that is what Fan Fiction is for, eh?  I make up my own happy ending for Alistair in my head.  My Cousland + Alistair = Image IPB

Ohhh, I forgot about that sexy Antivian.  Mmmm Zevran.... Image IPB

You had the option to become Queen of Ferelden with your LI as King by your side. Isn't that the dream of every little girl?

What did guys get? We got dumped by some pixels!:pinched: My pride is still wounded

"This'll all just end in tears, I just know it."

Ya know I feeling that third placement may depend on your previous choices in Origins... just saying ;)

Remember, Bioware said that they plans for Morrigan won't be disappointing and I have faith that it'll turn out well. A little optimism goes a longs ways.

Hmmm, let's see, you guys now get to go after your love interest, but does the queen ever get to have a child with her beloved or does Arl Eamon kill her instead, we also never saw our wedding to said King, which is also a ladies dream to plan her wedding.  Zevran better become King of Antivan, that is the only way the Queen will be safe.  Image IPB  Her husband won't see the danger until it's on his doorstep, oh wait, he disappears too?  Image IPB

If you play Awakenings, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth on why the warden disappears.  So the only answer for the new dlc will be for Morrigan to kill you off and she kills your husband (daddy of god baby off as well) and this is why he disappears.  Female players get shafted if they play Awakenings.  For their happy ending they shouldn't go beyond Origins, IMHO.

Yup, this is all the female characters have to look forward to now, since no more dlc.  Unless folks really start making some great mods.  Steven Valentine must have really wanted alot of loot to return as Alistair.  I would have loved to see dlc with pc playing as Duncan to recruit Alistair (guys would have also enjoyed to play the beard) and of course one for Zevran his early years in the crows.

Dang, I wish they would rethink that no more expansions or dlc.

ElvaliaRavenHart, I wouldnt say exactly that the DLCs were men catered or focused... after all, Lelianas Song had Leliana as a protagonist, not as a companion. And furthermore, we see her involved in a weird romance with a female -weird because Marjolaine is a manipulative ****, with no redeemeng aspects at all-, thats not very appealing to men...

I would go as far as state that ALL DLCs werent focused on continuing the wardens romances, whatever those might be. That would ve involved too many details and different choices the short structure of a DLC cant handle.

And this DLC willl wrap the story of the warden, and maybe introduce some elements for Dragon Age 2, but it wont be "focused" in your romance with Morrigan if you had one...  and that is a shame :crying: lol

I don't know the stats but I would guess that fan fiction is more dominated by women with all the drama and alternate endings and extended story, I'm not sure if men also write fan fiction but I don't know, I suppose that many of us just stay with the official story given by the developers and writers or at least that's what I think, I did found out that a girl made a good comic regarding Morrigan and the male warden after awakenings, she even included the god child as a young girl it was very well made and again it was done by a girl and she did a very good job.

What I'm waiting for is next week to download the DLC and hope, really hope that the ending regarding origins and the situation between Morrigan and my Warden would be worth it for  what it was done previously in origins, I do have some high expectations with this last DLC.

Sorry fella, but the only reason guys bought Leliana's Song was they were hoping to see or have their love interest continued, same thing for Morrigan.  At least guys or same sex love interest with Leliana got to she her again and the same for Morrigan.  Female players won't get this option with Alistair or Zevran.  Female players who romance Alistair get him 3-4 minutes in Awakenings, big deal. As a guy who plays female characters and tends to romance people other than Leliana, I am liable to be offended ;). In no way did my (lack of) romancing Leliana have anytihng to dow ith why I bought the DLC. That said, I do see where you're coming from. I think its a bit mean that the primarily male Morri/Lelimancers pretty-much get DLC while thos eof us who prefer Zevran or Alistair for whatever reasons get left out in the cold. All sid, though, Witch Hunt is pretty-much the only DLC which will probably have some romantic elements to it, though, so Morrimancers win out in the end. I think if anything Zevran should have got a DLC, or Alistair should have been in a DLC or had a more-than-5-minute cameo in Awakening.

One of the best fanfictions that I read over the female noble character marrying Alistair was written by a man.  I was blown away by the story.  My jaw actually dropped when I read the final chapters.  It was awesome.  Why should female gamers be forced into doing all of the fanfiction ......because gaming companies force them to write the fanfiction when they won't bring the love interest to a happy ending or death conclusion.  Gaming producers cater to men.

Fictional male writers write some steamy scenes in books so I don't see your point in regards to men vs women writers.

Yes, his story before or after the origins plot.  I would rather have seen dlc content on him being a drunk and you had to go find him and bring him back to the Vigil and the Wardens.

Is not a point regarding men vs women writers because is not a competition, the comment was about that I don't know if there are stats but that I would believe there might be more female fan fiction writers than male fan fiction writers to extend the stories that are not shown or delivered in games as per the comment that women rely in fan fiction or that's what fan fiction was for, and just thought: "well, that would be understanable", also, the comic I mentioned that was made by a girl about a male warrden and morrigan and that it was very well done is to show how good women are in writing the fan fiction and comics.

And yeah hehe, gaming producers goes for the certain and secure market as it has been all the time but at least now is showning that the female gaming market is growing and who knows, maybe in dragon age 2 there might be dlc's for women and even more possible because the time frame of dragon age 2 is of 10 years and I think is parallel to what is happening in Ferelden and the blight so some characters could return.

Well, I agree completely on the Alistair part. That was a neat character we all could have enjoyed some more. Zevran, on the other hand, IMHO is full of inconsitencies as a character, his supposedly bad-ass killer persona doesnt match his constant shallow and ludicrous remarks delivered for comic relief.

Yeah, its a shame that girls got screwed there (not pun intended) but its not difficult to understand in the context of cheap DLCs that focus on the major gamer demographics (that dont give a hoot about romances, whatever those might be...).

The best thing for me would ve been to continue the stories through an expansion, where more content for everybody would ve been available...

----------------------------------

And for the record, I DID played several female characters, and romanced Alistair... so Im not from the Stone-Age... lol

No worries. And wow, my typing above is terrible. I really need to sort that out.

Is it sad that I'm looking forward more to the mirror and the strider than to seeing Morrigan again? =/ I guess it will depend on the character. Now I really need to finish the game with my Dalish Elf. He is just starting the Landsmeet questline.

Well the fact stands that Morrigan is the only character with total cliffhanger ending. She isn't even present post coronation for a few final words.

The romance part is really just a bonus. She is the mother of a child with the old god's soul and the daughter of a very important character story-wise. There is alot of plot drive to be had right there and many questions to be answered (also links to Dragon age 2).

Now if we take Alistar or Zevran the only DLC they can possibly have is a prequel like Leliana's. Most of their story is otherwise concluded depending on your choices.

I always imagined a Calling DLC with you and Alistair remembering some moments (flashbacks), fighing some darkspawn, then going into the darkness and everything is done...

I still wonder why they decided to end everything so abruptly :(

Because, (trying not to spoil anything) Alistar might have some problems joining you, depending on what choice you make at the landsmet. Thats the problem, Leliana and Morrigan are still arround no matter what.

Not if you let Leliana die in Lothering or ****** off Morrigan until she leaves. But that wasn't my point, i meant why are they stopping with the DLC when they promised 2 years.
