During development, I requested (many times) a combat log so I could follow the action better. I was told (many times) that I wasn't going to get one, but also that I wouldn't need one because the floating numbers would give me all the information I needed.
Unfortunately, they move too quickly for that. I can't absorb all of the damage numbers as quickly as they flit across the screen; I doubt anyone can. Now, I'm a guy who pauses the game a lot so I have time to examine the situation and make reasoned decisions, but even then the damage numbers disappear. Pausing has no effect on the damage numbers.
I would very much like the damage numbers to pause along with the rest of the game so I can have time to read them all. Especially with AoE spells, there are far too many for anyone to read in the split-second they're available.
Either that or slow them down. Or give me a text box with a combat log in it.
This would be a much smaller problem if the game mechanics were documented somewhere, but since they're not the only way I can learn how the game works is to read the feedback it gives me, but that feedback seems designed the pass by unread.
Please let me see the damage numbers.

Like the idea.
Especially combined with an autopause mode.

I too would like this, although I'd also like them to disappear along with the interface if the user chooses to hide the interface (the user circles do not).

I like the idea, and have missed such a feature too. Since combat log ain't happening, could we have this instead?

Lemme guess. You all play WoW =P
Minmaxing in DAO is pointless though the game is already ridiculously easy.
