The DLC was released on the 360 by Microsoft. BioWare have no control over when they release it. BioWare can only release the PC DLC themselves and that happens when they get in to work in ohhh.. 20 mins.
Ah here come the "apologists" yes I know Bioware has no control over when the DLC is released by Microsoft but they DO have control over when they release it for the PC. It can't be that hard in this day and age to create a mechanism whereby the PC DLC is released at the same time as the Xbox DLC.
I leave my PC unattended for weeks on end and schedule it to do tasks without any input from me whatsoever. Now seriously if I can do that on a crappy £500 computer with a crappy freeware program I am pretty sure Bioware can come up with something professional to ensure the content is released automatically at a certain date and time.

They need people there in case of any troubles with the servers. If they said it would be available at 12am and went home while the system went down could you imagine the trouble then?
Can't expect people to be working to 2-3am in the morning so we all get it when we want. At the end of the day the time was set for 10am Mountain time. That's when they are at work and ready to deal with any problems and one now seems to have occurred if it's been put back to 11am.

This issue needs to be sorted, but then I guess with Bioware these days it is a lot easier to say "it can't be done" rather than actually fix the issue.

If a 1 hour delay is seriously bothering you this much, you might want to re-evaluate your priorities.charmingcharlie wrote...
Yet more excuses eh, you may think it is perfectly acceptable for them to cold shoulder their customer base. I don't there is simply no excuse in this day and age for these kind of delays.
I know if the roles were reversed and the PC was getting the DLC first before the xbox you can bet your life Microsoft would be down Bioware's neck to get it sorted so that there is a simultaneous release (and quite rightly so). How, exactly, does one go about downloading something before it's released?duck.william wrote...
has anyone figured out the url to dl it before the release yet?
that way you could at least start playing directly after they release it...
By nature, that's impossible.

Oh and last time I checked it wasn't a "few hours" it is substantially longer than a "few hours".
Actually, the reason we don't have the DLC yet is because Bioware is uploading the DLC literally as we speak. They're having trouble with their servers so it will be about an hour until it's ready for download.duck.william wrote...

well, you could figure out the url of the dlc, download and install it, since its probably already on their servers... you won't be able to play any content thouh, until you have registered that particular dlc to your account. has worked with other dlcs in the past. Lair of the Shadow Broker is quite a hard name to guess its url, though

Bioware has ALWAYS released Mass Effect 2 DLC when they arrived at work in the morning, while Microsoft has released the DLC several hours before. This isn't something new here, and a difference of a few hours is hardly something worth getting upset about.

I addressed that, did I not? Microsoft is in charge of releasing the Xbox DLC and Bioware is in charge of PC. In order to prevent any issues with the launch, the Bioware staff must be in the building to keep watch for tech issues and whatnot.charmingcharlie wrote...
How about you read what I posted eh ? I am not complaining about the "1 hour delay" I am complaining that Xbox users have had access to this DLC for nealy 7 hours now and PC gamers are still sat here waiting.
Official ETA is 1 hour 2 minutes.raz3r_ wrote...
So no official eta yet?

Attention:
The upload is taking longer
than we expect. The new current ETA for Lair of the Shadowbroker is
11am MST. So approximately 80 minutes. If this changes, I will let you
know.
