I really hope that if asari Spectre turns on Shepard, she isn't doing it for ulterior motives. We've already had Saren being the bad Spectre, we don't need another to suggest the Council are bungling poor judges of character.
Well, you know what they say about power corrupting and absolute power absolutely corrupting? That would apply to Spectres as well... And, instead of good/bad, there could always be shades of gray (remember, Garrus), so somebody who opposes you is not necessarily BAD, maybe just misguided...
That's the lesson I learned from all that anime I watched over the years.

Think of the FFFFFFFFUUUUU moment if we find out the Council sanctioned a hit on you. They exiled you to the Terminus systems to make sure you kept your head down and could be dealt with easily by another Spectre. Anyway, I hope this Spectre's role doesn't end with the DLC and we get some future interaction with her. If she is after Shepard to either kill him or bring him in, then having her crop up in future DLCs following his every move, then that would build some suspense and urgency to the missions. And then by the end of the ME2 DLC series, she catches Shepard and brings him to the Citadel in irons, and then when all hell breaks loose, ME3 begins. [/pointless but fun speculation/fantasy]

OK, the voice of the Shadow Broker is very Reaper-esque.
Just... wow.
What about if the Shadow Broker is actually a Reaper! I never thought about that until now. If you think about, it would make sense. I need to get these comics before I play this DLC!
Nah, that was just a sudden outburst on my part after I watched the trailer. If you think about it, why would the Shadow Broker be helping the Collectors in the first place? A Reaper needs help from another Reaper? And why would a Reaper care about money other than galactic genocide? Also, the Shadow Broker is referred to as a man, not an entity.
Also, I noticed a little flangling in the voice too, really. The guy sounds like either a turian or a drell. Though that may just be a little audio interferance to mask his true voice, and the guy may be a volus for all we know.

It looks like the Shadow Broker liason is on Omega. Could that be where the lair is?

I've noticed something. Go back to the trailer at 0:19, that doesn't really look like Illium's skyline.

0:33 to 0:36 When a girl says "someone tried to kill your friend commander shepard" Does that sound like Jennifer Hale or am I totally off?
I immediately thought it was Jen, and it wouldn't be the first time she's done extra dlc voices.

Also at 24-26 "Dangerous enemy to have" Hmmm maybe she voices the asari spectre

Maybe the Council (whatever council) wants/needs SB around, or SB has leverage on them. But hoping to take Shepard with one Specter? He took Saren for breakfast and he was the best.

Sounds compelling, but apart from the other concerns, Shepard has the option to regain his spectre status in ME2. The council would in principle pit two of their own against each other (well, maybe the turian counselor would go for it <_<).
I wonder if your ME2 conversation with the council will have an impact on the DLC...

You are an evil sadistic bastard! Then again, I'm not suprised, if I recall it's a requirement to work at Bioware.Chris Priestly wrote...
Ok, some people have been asking when the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC "takes place" in Mass Effect 2. As in can you play it before the suicide mission or only after.
I went to the font of knowledge (the Mass Effect writers) and asked them. They said:
"Like many of our missions, you can do the Shadowbroker DLC before or after the suicide mission. However, because we understood that most players would be coming to this after the suicide mission, we weighted the dialog much more heavily toward the assumption that the player had already completed it."
So, you CAN do it before you do the suicide mission, but you'll get a different (and possibly more flavorful) reaction if you play it after.
Hope this makes sense.
I guess I'll have to do this DLC after the final mission then.

Could be pulling double duty. You'll hear her anyway if you are using the femShep for this DLC.

I'm not yet familiar with the comics, (their in the mail yay!), but i watched it without the sound and it spoiled nothing for me.
The comics are a bit disappointing IMHO, you might get more enjoyment out of them knowing that the DLC is coming very soon.
