I'll bet she does have a unique power, and that it will become available to Shepard after the mission.

That's probably why Christina Norman kept mentioning how she'd have to dust off her Adept Shep for this DLC!  :wizard:

Just finished SM with Adept in Insanity. With squadies with Warp/Reave even Harbinger is a joke. And they are going to make that class more powerful? Picking AR + Mattock (really worth the money this one) and Locust as SMG, Adepts are beasts against anything. I´m afraid if they make biotics more powerful they´ll go into gamebreaking territory again.

This Shadow Broker Intel Center may be a way to transition away from getting your intelligence from Cerberus.

Adapts are very very dangerous in this game if you know how to use them. It's not like ME where you could just spam your powers and not even think.

It took me some time to get the hang of it, but even as soon as the first mission with Jacob and Miranda I was wasting mechs all around with the biotic combos. Now I´m trying for Vanguard. Gameplay seems really different from ME1 and the other classes I´ve tried in ME2. Don´t like charge much so far. If there is a biotic upgrade will it include this and Sentinel too?

No that was the reason they went after the human colonies, but for Shepard they expended a fair amount of effort trying to obtain his dead body (those that are liquified are all alive when it happens).  So it would be an interesting insight as to why the collectors went to such efforts to obtain Shepards dead body.  If you listen to the hidden Liara audio files it is explained why the Collectors wanted Shepard but to be honest that reason sounds a bit crappy (not posting it here because I don't want to spoil it for people).

If you have squaddies with Warp/Reave, the SM is pretty easy (even on Insanity) regardless of what class you're playing.

Getting off track here, but the only class I don't like playing much on Insanity is Vanguard. I don't care what anyone says; Charge is not a good ability on Insanity. The key to using Charge "better" is to use it less often, basically. Generally, it's either a suicide move or a "win more" move. Occasionally, you can actually use it to get out of a sticky situation, but that doesn't make it good enough.

Charge basically ruined the Vanguard class for me.  Enemies recover from it instantly or just shake it off like nothing happened.    I don't even pick that class anymore.

I doubt IGN knew what they were talking about honestly. I don't think Liara will be a squad member. Not because it's impossible, but because it would require voice recording for stuff you could do post suicide mission in addition to the DLC audio.

I've tried both Area and Heavy versions of Charge, it's just no good on Insanity.

thats funny because heavy charge pretty much felt like god mode on insanity outside the first collector platform segment

I prefer Heavy Charge to Area Charge, but whatev.

Like I said, Charging is either a suicide move or a win more move.  You either get yourself killed or you win a battle you were already winning a few seconds faster.  It's "fun," but not usually smart.  I've done two Vanguard playthroughs on Hardcore and Insanity, and basically what I learned was that Charge was best used as a finishing move or a "get the eff out of here" move.

But we should probably get back on topic...

I know I posted this earlier, but has anyone else posted this too... was I late in posting?  I didn't look over all pages, but does everyone assume this already?  Or does no one really care:

Spectre Tela Vasir, http://masseffect.wi...om/wiki/Spectre

That is probably the female asari spectre in the DLC video... on a side note, MAN I WANT THAT SPECTRE LOGO ON MY SHEP!

It could be her.  Or it might not be.  I'm certain there's more than one asari Spectre.  The original Spectres were all asari commandos.  EDIT: I guess some of the first Spectres were salarian STG operatives (like Mordin) too, but still my point remains that there's probably several asari Spectres operating in the galaxy.

They never said she would she would be a permanent squad member. All they said was that she was part of the team in the segment they played.

No. "Liara makes her triumphant return as a squad member." This doesn't imply that she's the squadmate in a certain segment, but permanently. If she isn't a squadmember, it's misleading. So either they're jumping to conclusions, know something we don't, or she will be a squad member. But this headline above is making it sound as if she's recruitable. I don't care either way, but still looking at the way they worded it.

Isn't that a bit presumptive? I don't see how Liara being mentioned as returning as a squad member indicates it's going to be in a permanent fashion. It's likely segment-only but to be frank there's not enough information to make a determination yet.

I'd say 50-50 chance Liara stays on the ship after the mission.

Nah...Liara will have an excuse for why she can't join after the LotSB mission. There's data to look at and stuff.

Presumptive on my part? Or theirs? My only issue is that their headline suggests that she's returning as a squadmate. In all of the screenshots/the trailer we see Shepard with 2 squaddies, and then Liara. Meaning she's not a squadmate, but an npc like Garrus during his recruitment. Given that, plus the headline of the article from IGN, what connection would you make? They're making it sound as if she's joining your team again.

Liara could still "make her triumphant return" in a DLC. Just because it's not permanent doesn't mean she's not a squad member.

Correct. She is joining the team again. We just can't say if it's going to be a permanent or temporary stay. I guess the fault really lays with Bioware for being deliberately vague and ambiguous about the DLC.

In no particular order, the most interesting theories as to who the Shadow Broker might be:

The fabled 13th member of the League of One, or a descendant thereof.

Shepard's father (not likely, but interesting)

The asari bartender on Ilium (who could also be Liara's father)

Very unlikely, but it would be funny:

Conrad Verner

I'll roll my eyes if its:

TIM

A reaper

An AI

Miranda's father

IGN said "triumphant return as a squadmember". Not so triumphant if it's for 2-3 hours now isn't it? The way they worded it makes it sound as if you get her in your squad again. If that's the case, then why do the screenshot's show something entirely different? Unless Bioware's increasing the amount of squad members you can have out during each mission, I find it hard to believe.
