Yeah... that was gamesradar, not Bioware. They still would like to keep their players happy and ignorant... I do love Bioware though, they're very open but like most companies, if a more ambiguous answer keeps a slew of "MAN, THEY'RE CHEAP!!!" comments out of anything related to them, it's better to nudge the truth a little.

So? What's the difference? Do you need their marketing department to tell for it to be truth? They are a large company and part of EA....they need to watch every word they publically say so that they won't scare investors. EA has stock values.....if they say it's expensive to call back 14 actors for dialogue rumors start to fly that they are in a financial hole but perhaps they just want to have the DLC not cost 15 or 20. And yes voice recording is insanely expensive.

You do realize that they have to pay a VA a full day's pay even for a few lines ?

Then the trick would be to plan ahead far enough to be able to do more than a few lines per session. I know it's easier said than done, but IMHO the solution they've adopted now (just shrugging their shoulders and having the miming squadmates) is not up to the general high standard of Bioware games.

p.s. some people don't seem to realise the difference between expensive = ' we can't afford it' and expensive = 'it costs so much we won't be able to make the money back on the DLC'

Actually, that's a good point. Liara is a potential past romance for either gendered Shepard, which means she can potentially lose Shepard to either of her former squadmates. I wonder if they thought to include that when they wrote the "you can continue your romance with Liara" bits.

I hope so. While my Liara-romancing Shepard didn't cheat, it'd be a bit bizzare if the game ignores it and forces Shepard to act like he/she isn't cheating.

Kinda like how a cheating Shepard still kisses Liara on Illium.
