The gamespot article about this DLC makes the following two points:
"will also introduce content that will actually start bridging the gap between Mass Effect 2 and the next game in the series."
"Lair of the Shadow Broker takes place during the main Mass Effect 2 game"
How do these two points work together? surely if it takes place during the standard game how does it bridge any gap between ME2 and ME3.
that's why you have to understand the whole story of ME. mostly it's depend on books, and comics. you should read them to understand. there is comic books that you might be interested in. mass effect redemption... it is the story how Liara got Shepard body, and handed over to Cerberus not to shadow broker. actually, shadow broker had a deal to sell his body to collectors. Liara didn't want to happen that way. so she was very desperate to save Shepard. then in this DLC, finally, Liara will fight against shadow broker. then her past grudge will be gone, and make connection to ME 3 for her destination.

I have the comics; I understand the story; I played the first game when it first came out on 360; then got on PC.. then got ME2 and read the comics.
BUt thats not my point; my point is if it happens before the final suicide mission then its not "gap" content. "gap" content would take place after the suicide mission.

You can play it after the suicide mission and get diffrent dialog, so yes it is gap DLC, if you play it before the suicide mission, the dilaog will be diffrent .RiGoRmOrTiS_UK wrote...

Did he say those "exact" words or did he use the generic BioWare "It will be more satisfying" line? lol

Ok, some people have been asking
when the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC "takes place" in Mass Effect 2. As
in can you play it before the suicide mission or only after.
I went to the font of knowledge (the Mass Effect writers) and asked them. They said:
"Like
many of our missions, you can do the Shadowbroker DLC before or after
the suicide mission. However, because we understood that most players
would be coming to this after the suicide mission, we weighted the
dialog much more heavily toward the assumption that the player had
already completed it."
So, you CAN do it before you do the
suicide mission, but you'll get a different (and possibly more
flavorful) reaction if you play it after.
Hope this makes sense. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

time is very slower. I started ME 2 again last night. I am in insanity level with Adept class this time. I heard something that Adept class could get benefit from Liara shadow broker DLC? if it will be correct, I will be happy for it.
Christina Norman confirmed this yesterday in her twitter. It is a actually a bonus that affects all classes, but is biased towards the Adept. She promises to have a full blog post at launch.
Shame that I already completed my Adept insanity play-through.
