I'm not being agressive. Sorry if the tone was missleading.

Words cannot express how much I love Black Lagoon and how pissed off I am that they liscenced the newest season so that now we can't watch it until they release the dubbed version in stores. I'll still buy it, but I want to watch it NOW, darnit. <_<

I continue to follow the manga because I think all the third season is going to be is an adaption of the manga's ongoing storyline, Revy is one of my favorite characters of all time, I have an unconditional love for her.

I tend to prefer more serious animes, with deeper, developing characters and an engrossing storyline. They are harder to find, but well worth the time I spend searching for them.

"Neon Genesis Evangelion" is a good one that's worth watching if thats the type of stuff you like, the original series is excellent though I don't reccomend "Death and Rebirth" or "The End of Evangelion" movies as they are pretty much rubbish in my opinion, I enjoyed the surreal ending of the series itself and am enjoying the new "Rebuild of Evangelion" series of movies coming out recently...

The rebuild is currently halfway through and thus far it has been amazing. It's still something of a mind job, but it's a little bit easier to follow so far. This is the kind of show you need to watch if you want to have your psyche exploded.

Also, please note that several of the shows I listed are just pure comedy fluff. Sometimes it's good just to LMFAO rather than get into a deep involved story line.

Full Metal Panic!

A 13 year old "Commander" barking orders at people 20 times her age...

I really enjoyed that series up until the last episode.

Then when she discoveres her on the battlefield things get all dramataic and you can see how shocked and relieved he is and it's all "oh look what a touching reuinion! They're finally going to stop being so ambiguouse about the relationship!" And they are running towards each other and..........

She drop kicks him in the face. .... wtf. Oh, now she's shouting obscennties at him. Wtf is this guy so attached to her again? Omg... someone please just slap her... nope. She just slapped him instead. *sigh*

That was just too disappointing. Japanese men are masochistic or something.

I hate that series, everything about it, I just couldn't take it seriously when it wanted to be taken seriously, and didn't care at all about the romantic aspects of it, I didn't even laugh at Fumofu, which was supposed to be the comedic spin-off series.

How could you not laugh at Fumofu? Fumofu was ridiculous. I mean, sure parts of it were off the deep end, but you weren't supposed to take any of it seriously to begin with.

I really enjoyed pretty much all of the first series. I enjoyed the hell out of Fumofu because it was just laughs and I liked that. I enjoyed most of the second series but was getting really tired of the Tsundere thing at that point. Then it got to the end and I was like "Oooooh [not nice] YOU!"

A big no-no in any kind of series: retconing (or even using legitimate plot devices to create a rewind effect) good plot advancement so that you can reuse the Tsundere feature. Once the Tsun has gone Dere it should not ever go back.

I just didn't find Fumofu funny, thats all...

I would rather re-watch DNA² or School Rumble which had much more comedic value to me.

Oh don't bring up School Rumble...

Funny, but the ending on that made me even angrier than Full Metal Panic!. I was sitting there thinking to myself "is this really how it ends? Really? REALLY?!"

Never saw the ending, I think I just watched seasons 1 and 2 but I didn't know of any further then that until much later.

I watched the Ghost in the Shell remake a couple nights ago. I like that they rerecorded the entire voice crew, especially since they seem to have got all the original actors, but the substitution of CG animation for certain scenes throughout the movie was terrible. Should have just left the original cells.

Pretend that those season are all there is. It's for your own good.

On a much more depressing (but also completely incredible) note:

I loved the original Ghost in the Shell movie by Mamoru Oshii, didn't see the remake though.

I absolutely reccomend the Heidi anime, its one of the best ever made in my opinion, its really great for all ages and even though its old, it has held up really well even today, the original title is "Arupusu no shôjo Haiji", check it out, its awesome...

If you want a romantic comedy, find

Saiunkoku Monogatari

Fruits Basket

I have laughed so much with both

Ok, I'll admit it. On the romance side I'm a bit of a sucker for Fushigi Yugi. Only because it has lots of violent action scenes though...yeah.

I watch less anime than I used to ten-fifteen years ago as there is almost too much of it now to keep track of. An all time favourite of mine is Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z (which I am currently rewatching on dvd) and The Wanders: El Hazard. I also loved Trigun, Gundam Wing, Teknoman, Robotech and Dominion Tank Police. I generally love anime movies from the eighties and nineties including Akira, Lensman, Wings of Honeamise, Ninja Scroll, many Miyazaki films and many more I'm sure I forgot to list. The last new anime I watched was Highlander: The Search for Vengeance and found that to be way better than the movie series it was based on.

Anything Ghost in the Shell

Blood + Parts 1 & 2

Noir

Azumanga Daoih!

Samurai 7

Gunslinger Girls

Hellsing

Grave of Fireflies

And many more!

My absolute favorite is Now and Then, Here and There. One of the most unique Anime series I have seen to date and heartbreaking.

Samurai Jack is a great show but it's not anime. It's an American cartoon.

I only watched Ghost in the Shell the movie by Mamoru Oshii, and not too far back in the thread we were talking about how bad Hellsing was, check out ChuckNorris' crack article link if you want reference.
