Speaking of (potentially, imaginatively) Spanish-speaking female PC game characters...
Zoë Castillo never got enough credit!

Same here! <3

April... when will we see you again? *sniff*

Anyway, I agree, Zoe didn't get enough credit either and she would make an awesome companion or LI. :wizard:

I never played a game with that character in it, but just judging from the picture I'd say Zoe definitely would've had a lot of potential for being a very good LI :) .

In the latest interview of Mike Laidlaw the interviewer  asks whehter there will be hetero and homosexual romances in DAII as there was in DAO.  Mike Laidlaw responds:

"I can't give you numbers sorry but I can say that it's still there and there are all kinds of  different  relationships you can have. So we certainly haven't taken any steps backwards. That's my safe answer"

That certainly looks like great news too me! :wizard:

A safe answer indeed. Gaider actually had said something similar a while ago.

All Bioware has to do is say that Isabela is romanceable by both genders and I would be more than content.

I hink that's pretty much a done deal, seeing as she could sleep with a both male and female Wardens in Origins. Making her only be available to male Hawke would be retconning a part of her character.

Kind of like having Leliana only available to male Warden, despite the fact that she was in a relationship with a woman not to long ago.

I'm surprised that anyone is asking whether there will be a F/F romance. Yes, there's Isabela. The openly bisexual pirate. She's even written by the same person. We can move on to speculating as to if any of the other female companions might be interested in Lady Hawke.

I am more worried about possible M/M love interests at this point. I don't think BioWare would make another bisexual male elf. Varric then? Hmmm... maybe Anders-look-alike?

Ok i think Aveline could be the second Fem /Fem LI  . The piece of conversation that we have seen makes me think of a love / hate relationship to start with then some where over the 10 year span it could change to love / love relationship . I hope any way .

* Concerning the romances and love interest, are all the followers subject to this if I take in account the two genders of Hawke?

Not every follower is interested romantically in Hawke, though there are options for players of all genders and orientations.

F/F and M/M confirmed in one question? Yay!

Finally! I was sort worried about that after what happened with Mass Effect 2.

Different writing team, different outcomes. The marketing seems similar to ME2, but I don't blame Bioware. I sort of blame EA. The game itself seems to be coming along much differently than all the blood gore guts chest hair bearded man image its exposing.

I mean, look at Fenris for goodness sakes. I doubt his character design was meant to appeal to the straight male demograph.

I have faith and love for everyone making DA2. I'm a bit more frustrated with the advertisement, but the interviews are trying to make up for it. And after a lengthy dialogue with someone else, I'm convinced its not Bioware's doing. Its really EA.

Thought this part of RPGamer's interview (www.rpgamer.com/games/dragonage/dragonage2/dragonage2int.html) would be relevant to this thread's interests:

Mike Laidlaw:
When you run into Isabella for the first time, if you walk in as a guy, she flirts with you almost instantly with something like, "Finally someone who can keep his rigging straight," or some sort of nautical allusion like that. But as a girl, she says something like "Hey, watch yourself because you're nothing but ****** and ass to the men in here.".

I dont like the sound of that , only flirting with the Male Hawke but they can`t  take Isabela away from us can they ?

Actually when you think about it, that's consistent with how she behaved in Origins. She openly flirted with the male warden saying how he had "strong hands" while with the female warden she was completing her for being a woman who could stand up for herself, but certainly not in a flirty way.

That being said, I wouldn't put it past them to make Isabela only available to men. Some people take it for granted but I'm still not sure.

I wouldn't worry about this.  It's just that, with a FemHawke, she's more concerned for FemHawke's safety than with flirting with her.

Also, the s/s LIs are rarely written as too openly flirty to avoid putting off the straight gamer.

Didn't Zevran only flirt with female wardens when you first encountered him (the comments about bed warming etc), but he was still an option for males as well. Anyway, they've already confirmed s/s romances and Isabela was bi in Origins (and she's written by the same writer as well) so I'm 99.9% sure that she's available for both genders.

Isabela if I remeber correctly didn't flirt with a female warden until the Fem!Warden actually makes the suggestion so she may not be as flirty with Lady Hawke as she would with a normal man hawke, at first.

I am desperately hoping Aveline is available as an f/f LI, at least.

I say Isabela is a certainty for being both a Male and female love interest. Bioware has confirmed that they will have Lesbian and Gay Options, so it would be beyond silly to have the person from Origins who we know is Bi to not be a romance option for Both bearded hawke and lady hawke.
