I am a little amused that Aveline gets a lot of stick for her muscled arms but most people seem in favour of a female qunari, who would make her look like a twig.



Just for the record, I am all in favour of a qunari female; one might hope all this interest might generate a DLC companion.

Maybe that's not the entire sentence? Maybe the whole line reads:

"Hey, watch yourself because you're nothing but ****** and ass to the men in here. Personally, I'm more interested in that pretty mouth of yours."

IT COULD HAPPEN.

But really, either way, I'm not worried. She's written by Sheryl Chee. I'm fairly sure we'll have something special on our hands no matter what.

That's how I see it.

They're trying to avoid the situation where a bisexual character might seem like he/she is forcing the romance upon the player character of the same sex, so they're letting us take the first step to let the character in question know we're interested.

Kind of funny though, since it's not like Isabela would grab Fem!Hawke, drag her back to her room and proceed to ravish her in an all night love fest. Not that my Hawke would complain if that were tro happen.

I'm sure that the romance will be awesome and satisfying. The character appeals to me and I see no reason why Lady Hawke's relationship with her would be a watered down version of Beady Hawke's.

Because she doesn't hit on Lady Hawke immediately? Like the real world, the majority of women in Thedas wouldn't be interested in Isabela flirting with them while the majority of men would be. Even if a woman swings that way, being aggressive in your interest usually backfires.

That could be amusing, imagine; Isabela's expression as she realizes Lady Hawke is gay, with flirtatious banter flying and Bethany or Carver coughing awkwardly in the background.

If we have to initiate, then I hope there's more than one flirt/initiate romance option. I just don't see a seriousface!Hawke suavely launching into flirtations.

I recently re-watched the 1976 version of  Assault on Precinct 13 and I have to say I forgot how much of a bad ass the female lead Leigh is.

She gets shot in the arm by a gang member and still knocks him out. She then spends most of the film unable to move that arm and manages to hold her own. She also stares down a guy who as a gun pointed at her.

So I'd like a badass Leigh for DA:2

I don't think you can really judge if the romance is watered down or not just based on first interaction.

Personally, I have faith that Isabela romance will be done properly for both genders.

Offtopic: for those who played FFXIII; is there an actual romance between Lightning and Fang or is that just wishful thinking on the part of fans? The amount of Lightning/Fang artwork and fanfiction gives me the impression there is something between them.

Its not really just fans wishful thinking, Fang was originally supposed to be a male character, its pretty much a given that they're a couple, although granted its not spelled out as plainly as we'd like in the game itself. They put out more FF13-related stuff in Japan before the game came out, to promote the game, it was basicly a prequel-story, I remember reading some of it on a website that translated it into English, it was pretty cool and had a lot more Fang-Vanille goodness .

This. Also: Huge and muscular female characters? Hell yes! I'd gladly buy a DLC or two with that.
