Agree with what a number of people are wanting to see here.  I'd like a human non-rogue F/F option (simply because my FemHawke will be a rogue already.)  And I'd like her to be the aggressie/experienced/dominant one who makes the advances on my inexperienced FemHawke.

Something I considered is if Bethany becomes romanticaly attracted to another woman who simply isn't interested in Hawke. That could be a very interesting angle to examien but it's probably never going to happen. Imagine poor Bethany breaking down and moanign about how she can't blast darkspawn to chunks anymore because she's all heartbroken and wants to go off and be alone for a chapter or two.......

dood what if your playing fem hawke and your sis wants to have a threesome with you and an attractive guy.  That actually almost happened to a rl friend of mine, but I told him that would be sick. lol

lol

NO.

Lol riveting tale, chap.

I'd like to see as a companion (and as a possible LI for my a female Hawke) a mage who prefers women, has some "experience", but doesn't talk much about it. However, a female Qunari also seems to be an interesting idea.

I'd like a bi girl that's attracted to men and woman evenly, that will return interest no matter your gender.

Yes, to have a character making a play for you rather than having to do the chasing yourself would make an agreeable change. It could also potentially shift the dynamic. So instead of selecting advances you'd be choosing between flirt / deflect / tease / reject / manipulate... and so on.

I want a strong, independent warrior woman. I was thinking of what other BW character she would most be like, and I think someone like Jaheira from Baldur's Gate 2 would be awesome.

She was a grizzled veteran with a strong wit, stood fast by her ideals, but was also very practical when needed. Tough exterior with a warm heart....yeah, that's what I would like.

I was just reading about Bioware making a lesbian character in kotor. Sounds like they would write one if it feels appropriate, but i'm glad they didn't make the romances strictly gay in DAO.

No Lelianas. Please I don't want to deal with that horribly insecure and uncritical woman ever again.

/agree

No Lelianas, fem-fem romance calls for a devilish woman, not a high school kid who's insecure and just so ordinary.

Mind you I'm not saying she isn't a cool cat or a bad friend/party member. It's just that your relationship really doesn't seem very healthy (she commits suicide if she loses you for crying out loud). She keeps jumping from one obsession to another and the last thing she needs is a lover. A friend to calm her down and teach her the value of living and loving for herself is what that girl really needs. :?

To each their own but I liked Leliana for her vulnerability: she was someone who needed my warden and really sought to love her. Personally, I like that better than someone like Morrigan. It's the same reason I liked Allistair: his vulnerability and clumsy by sincere attempts to woe my warden.

Imagine this charcter as a woman: www.youtube.com/watch

Words cannot describe how awesome that would be.  I mean that already is awesome but imagine it as a female companion in a BioWare game.

Keep in mind that the third or so party member we can find is the wife to a Templar and named after an Orlesian chevalier.  The first Orlesian Chevalier, in fact.

I'm thinking someone a little darker than Leliana this time. I really really liked her, but I'm thinking someone who enjoys the killing as much as Hawke does.

Who's already married to someone. Also I'm still curious as to since when Templers can marry seeing as how they're supposed to be celibate.

Jaheira was married to somebody, that didn't stop her from being an LI in BG2, the fellow she was married to died right there in the opening part of the game. Could happen again here. Or maybe he could live, but simply be inferior to Hawke and she could prefer Hawke to him. I wouldn't want to 'steal' somebody from somebody else who they were married to, but it would certainly make an interesting option for the evil characters out there. Maybe the 'good' path could be to turn her down, but then the dude finds out that his wife is in love with Hawke anyway, jealously challenges Hawke to a duel (or simply attacks Hawke), and she has to kill him, thus eliminating the obstacle to the romance. Certainly would be a bit different from the ordinary anyway :) .

Like many others here, I'd love to see a Qunari LI or a warrior LI. A soldier-type (disciplined etc.) or a mercenary-type woman would be cool. Most awesome would be if the romance subplot runs throughout the ten years, maybe even with either a bit of situational animosity (e.g. rivalry, on different sides, bad first impressions, etc.) the first few years before any romance happens.

Another type I'd like to see would be a female brainy official of some type, like a councilor or administrator or something. Might not be a companion, but very involved in the events around Hawke nonetheless (like, say, being in charge of handling the refugees coming into Kirkwall in the beginning of the game).

This. :wizard:

I really want to see them make use of the time scale and any love interest could definitely benefit. It would give a romance so much more depth to see it at various stages: meeting, interest, involvement, relationship...

Whilst all previous BW games could only give you a snapshot into which an LI had to be squashed the potential is here to present something more three dimensional and emotionally satisfying.

It does give you so many more options over the usual:

- Hi!

- Oh hi!

- You're cute!

- Thanks!

- Here is something I got for you!

- Wow! I think you're cute as well!

- Let's go to bed.

- Yeah!

I can see it already. A vast legion of Bioware faboys and fangirls with the LIs, playing DA2 non-stop... FOR 10 YEARS! They will mold with their computer screen to become one entity.
