Are we even absolutely certain that we won't get screwed over again? I'm far from convinced there will even be f/f this time. The absolute betrayal of ME2 will stay with me forever and it destroyed any trust I have in Bioware.



My feeling is that Bioware finds itself with a gay-friendly reputation it no longer wants. And is under pressure from EA to lose.



F/F? I will believe it when I see it. And I'm not buying DA2 until I see it confirmed.

Seriously? That's what will make or brake this game for you?
Not the gameplay, level design, or story, but rather a romance subplot?
Fantastic.
I know that minor aspect of ME2 was a let down, but I'd hardly call it a betrayal (altough I might not be so forgiving of that game's gameplay, level design, or story).

Anyway, I'd say it's clear that Isabella will be the one and only F/F option, which is a shame since what little we've seen of the characters is telling me that Aveline we likely be my favorite.

hah  ...I agree it'd be weird if she's not the bi LI but I wouldn't mind if it were Aveline.

It is confirmed.  David Gaider said that they weren't 'taking a step back' in this regard.

Someone else--Mike Laidlaw, maybe?--said that there would be options for all interests and orientations.

Heck, there might even be two f/f interests, since both Merril and Isabela are active with the fairer sex.

I agree, it's confirmed. In the m/m thread someone said that just because one of the devs said there would be romance for orientations, that didn't necessarily mean a m/m LI.  David Gaider replied that it was kind of paranoic to think that and to consider m/m confirmed, so the same applies to f/f IMO.

Also, I've read that there'll be romanceable npcs so maybe Cassandra for f/f...

I don't remember Merrill ever showing interest in a female Dalish Warden. Is there a reliable source which can confirm that Merrill is interested in both women and men?

It is not the same teams doing each game [series] you know.  Just because the Mass Effect devs refuse to have a real f/f (or m/m for that matter) relationship does not mean the Dragon Age devs won't do it.

Dragon Age devs will gladly do a S/S romance if resources allow it and they've confirmed both F/F and M/M romances are once again present in DA2.

The only unanswered question is: Who is it?

I think you have to look at the game buying demographic, My guess is that sci fi ME has a higher proportion of young hetro males than the fantasy dragon age buyers. Thus the ME dev didnt feel the need to add M/M or F/F. DAO earned a lot of respect for Zevran and leliana and the dev would be idiots to know go ahead and lose that goodwill. I dont think EA wants bioware to "lose" its gay friendly tag , Ea is a business and goes where the market is

i would say that

"Bi/same sax LI? cool" sign me up crowd beats any "I wont buy this game coz if I choose a certain chain of conversations i could end up in a homosexual relationship" crowd.

I dont want lelinana 2.0 for DA2 but someone sophisticated and cool and a little less" dirty young fish wife" than Isabella

Merril and the hala keeper were an item, I believe.  Your friend from the Dalish origin was supposed to be their shield bearer at their union ceremony, or something like that.

I believe that was a mod and not part of the original game.
