shame on you .. I'm disappointed with you people who have accepted F/F Romance as a sweet in the life or it is like another meal for you perhaps.

LOL What's this?

Obvious is obvious. But if not obvious, then that is actually very funny since it supposes that sex would be for breeding only, and thus F/F would be wrong since no babies come out of it xD

Good metaphors there though.

Sweet in life ~ bi
Another meal ~ straight F/F

or

Sweet in life ~ special non casual
Another meal ~ casual every day

Still sad-faced that you can't romance Aveline. ;_; I was really hoping for a more butch F romance, whether it was for F/F or M/F. *sigh of resign*

You know what I liked about that demo video? I liked that Isabela flirted openly with Hawke. I couldn't make out the icons on the wheel that Mike chose during the dialogue, so I don't know whether he was picking things that showed a <3 or not (although I assumed not, since it didn't seem like that kind of conversation), but it appeared to me at least that that means s/s flirting won't be hidden in the shadows as some people would prefer, but will be treated like any other kind of flirting.

This is a good thing :)

i could actually see Mamma hawke and femHawke arguing about this if you go for isabela:

Mom: you're what? Daughter, Please think for a second-

FemHawke: Mom can't you let me live my life the way i want to? Ugh

Mom: Girl drop this "i dont care about anything but her" act and get a man!

FemHawke: [leave]

I have to agree with you. Aveline is right up my alley, and I would have loved to romance her (with femHawke, admittedly). I was pretty bummed when I heard she isn't a LI, and it seems overly stereotypical that it's the rogue/mage girls that are romance_OK but not the hard-ass warrior. Some of us like amazons, and all that.

That said, I do have hopes for Izzy after that bar fight. And it helps that unlike Leliana, she's a melee rogue, which should make her a better bodyguard.

It's worth noting that in Thedas, homosexuality is considered eccentric, but not immoral. And that the player-character is not an only child or even an only surviving child, meaning Mama Hawke still has a shot at grandkids even if she doesn't get them from Marian/Garrett.

note that Hawke family is technically nobility, and you know how nobility is with such things^_^

its just pragmatism anyway, but still, Mama hawke would expect, her kids to hold some sense of nobility

And I honestly doubt there will be any in Dragon Age 2.

Seriously, how many homophobic people were there in Origins? None, as far as I remember. The only kind of fear and discrimination in Dragon Age appears to be against other races like elves or against mages, no against sexual orientation.

I don't want any homophobic parents either. Though I wouldn't mind them being somewhat shocked/taken aback at first, that's perfectly normal. What I would love would for Mama Hawke to have certain approval/disapproval for the different LI's I mean, Isabela is a pirate, Merrill a Dalish elf bloodmage, Varric is a dwarf who runs a spy network, Anders is technically an abomination, Fenris is an elf ex slave with major issues. In short there are plenty of problems the family could have without resorting to complaining about the plumbing not matching.

If mama Hawke goes "But she's a pirate!", I really do hope we get the option to say "So? Dad was an apostate!", if only for the ensuing argument on whether or not that is the same/relevantPosted Image.
Either way, I'd love it if Hawke's family had some comments on Hawke's choice of LI.

She's A Pirate!

Yeah Mama Hawke really wouldn't have a lot of room to talk.  I'm really excited about the family dynamics that could come into play considering how much Bioware has talked them up.  There better be some reaction and more than just an offhand comment!

As an actual Prince out here in the real world, I can confirm at least from my family(the paternal side which descends from Sikh warrior kings) that being homosexual or even bisexual would've been looked down upon.

I'm straight. Always have been, always will be. But when I was younger, if I even acted "gay" as a joke or some such, I'd get a lot of people trying to make me feel like crud over it.

I'm sure that if I were to actually ask them today about how'd they'd feel if I were gay, they'd say they'll accept it and whatever, but I doubt thats how they'd actually feel.

I'm an only child. I'm the heir, and if I die before impregnating someone or just never have a child with a woman, the heir title would move to one of my cousins.

As much as I'm okay with one of them being the heir, I'd prefer to keep that title myself, thanks.

So my Princeship stays with me until I have a child, in which case I technically become King and my child/children become Princes and Princesses. And thus, the royal line continues.

To be honest, I have no problem with homosexuality/bisexuality and I find it completely normal.

Thing is, my case is very VERY unique compared to the average person, so if I were to be gay or one of my children were, it could cause problems as far as continuing the line is concerned.

As for homophobia in DA2, I doubt there will be any.

There's a difference between being concerned that someone is gay/lesbian/bi and actually being phobic about it.

For example-

Concerned- "Bethany, how can you keep our noble line continuing if you only fancy women? Your blood must be in the newborn for the line to continue. If not, we'll die out!"

Phobic- "BETHANY, HOW DARE YOU!? How dare you have taste in only women? This is a TRAVESTY. You are a heathen and nothing more. I demand this instant that you go out and find a man to bring home because I will have NONE OF THIS FILTH IN MY HOUSE!"

^See? I'd expect the former. Definitely not the latter. Although I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one person that fit the latter, as it IS a dark fantasy.

i was saying that mama hawke would try to get femHawke to go for men in such a case because of the noble bloodline.

there is pressure to have children in noble families, its a pragmatic view.

i admit she would be more concerned about having grandkids than her daughters happiness, and as to why her daughter acts that way, but she'd probably have trouble accepting it due to the noble bloodline, which is all i was trying to say.

Mama hawke is a member of the amell family. Ameel family is nobility in kirkwall, where the game is set.
so it stands to reason that mama hawkes kids have noble blood, even if they are not directly members of the family.

Mama hawke is gonna probably look out for her family line first due to that.

I imagine Leandre gave up her own noble standing by marrying an apostate Hawke.

So she doesn't really have any standing to use the maintenance of the noble bloodline as an argument against her children's pursuit of their own happiness.

im just saying, she at leas was a noble, and might not like having a homosexual daughter. or she might not care at all, im just speculating.
