I recall in the human noble origin, you could mention your bedtime arrangement to Fergus, and he'd simply go something like "It's that elven maid, isn't it? You saucy minx!". He must be aware of his sister's preferences in order to be able to guess it like that, and his attitude implies that he has no objections. Parents are different creatures entirely, ofc. But you are having this conversation right in front of them and they don't react (which I always found weird).

There may or may not be s/s LIs, but I'm absolutely positive we won't see any homophobia in DA2.  It's simply not a big deal in Thedas.  In fact, I'm kinda dissappointed Ms Cousland couldn't marry Anora.

Everyone seems to think Isabela is confirmed as a f/f LI.

While I hope that is so (in fact, my playing the game depends on it being so) I have yet to see any official proof of it.

As far as I can see, it's wishful thinking, and assumption based on the brief DAO girly threesome scene.

But I'd love to be proved wrong. So if it's been CONFIRMED, by BIOWARE, could you let me have a link or something so I can just order the game now?

It has been confirmed that S/S romances are in the game, just not who the F/F or M/M LI's are.

Since Isabela was portayed as being bisexual in DA:O, it makes sense for her to be a F/F option for Lady Hawke.

Now, I doubt Bioware will release game footage or a screenshot where you see Lady Hawke share a kiss with Izzie. At least to my knowledge they've never done that before, so it's unlikely they'll start now.

The best we can get is that gameplay demo where Isabela flirts with Lady Hawke and invites her to her room if she wants some "company".

or

party members all str8, Kelly Chambers character (think Dairren and Iona in DAO) for 'the gays'.

The demo wasn't "confirmed" either and yet 6 days left till it comes out! Man those threads were just a pure fun laugh riot. 

Bottom line is s/s romance for both genders are confirmed. I can't rule out the possibility that the writers got replaced by pod people who would take the stupid road out and retcon Isabela's entire personalty.  Because Sheryl Chee was obviously so excited enough to write Isabela again that she volunteered just so she could change a major facet of her character.   I mean I don't work there so I can't say for sure.  Also since I don't know the mathematical formulas, nor know enough about math and science to check the proofs of others I also can't say for sure that  gravity exists.

Depends on your definition of "proof".

If you're looking for a dev to come on here, point at a companion like Isabela and say "She can romance your Lady Hawke", then no, that won't happen. If you're looking for a video or screenshot that features a S/S romance between Hawke and a companion it's the same thing. They're not going to show you that.

That, however, doesn't mean S/S romances aren't in the game. They just aren't going to use that to market the game.

Jade Empire had S/S romances, yet never showed them prior to release. Dragon Age: Origins did the same. We know from a dev that Hawke can have S/S romance with his/her companions. I'd post you a link to that topic, but I can't find it anymore due to how fast these forums change nowadays.

You'll either have to take my word and the words of other posters here or try your luck by sending a pm to one of the devs and hope they answer you.

My Fem Hawke will be taking Izzy up on her offer as soon as that mission is done

I'm hoping for some f/f possibilities with non party members too.

When I played human noble on DA:O and could 'get to know' Iona, I loved that. I was RP'ing that particular character to not be interested in men at all and it was nice to be able to pair her with someone before meeting Leliana. I would love BioWare so much if there are similar things in DA2.

It has been confirmed that there are followers/companions that are romanceable by both genders in the rpg france preview "Not every follower is interested romantically in Hawke, though there are options for players of all genders and  orientations."- Mike Laidlaw. So, let's see: not every party member is romanceable (Varric, Aveline, Bethany/Carver), but you will be able to romance some of them- no matter your gender or orientation. Hell, english isn't even my first language and I have no trouble understanding THAT

Both of those quote really just encourage me.  Because such enthusiasm just lets you know Isabela is going to be made of pure Awesomanium.  Mike Laidlaw also said in the demo chat that Isabela is his favorite character.

I'm the biggest worrywart I know and even I think you're going overboard here. The devs didn't announce which companions were bi for previous games that had bi LIs (which is to say, a lack of explicit confirmation in no way implies a given companion isn't bi), they have specifically announced that there will be same-sex love interests for both male and female PCs, and they've shown solid evidence that Isabela can be romanced by femHawke, including not only the fact that a female Warden could take her for a roll in the hay in DAO but also including the moment where Isabela propositions femHawke in Friday's demo. You could argue that evidence does not confirmation make, but the evidence in this case is far more than mere wishful thinking. No, wishful thinking would be what some of us had going with Aveline (and we openly acknowledged that we didn't know for sure that she'd be an LI), or better yet, the misconception that all female athletes are lesbians (that is wishful thinking).

So yeah I would bet money that Isabela will be an LI for femHawke.

While s/s romance is not frowned upon in Thedas, I think marriage is still limited to a man and a woman. It's more of a political arrangement and family duty anyway, not necessarily the result of romance. Also, it's established that marriages among nobles are intended to produce children.

The romance picture made me fall in love with her. She's just so... something. I don't know. They just did an absolutely incredible job on her face. Lord knows I love Isabela too, but if I can have Merrill, then the choice becomes very difficult. But if not, there's always a male character :happy:
