Yeah, bascially. Constructive critisism and nerd raging are two very different things. The game is done. So now you can eaither stomp around and troll each and every romance thread like some giant man child or you can deal with it and enjoy the game when it comes out.

And there I thnk we have the real problem. Offends the sensibilities of some that OTHERS might see a character differently than they do.  And that the writers might actually have supported that alternative view?  Unforgivable!

After hearing Merrill talk in the live feed and actually getting a slight handle on her personality I absolutely want to romance her as FemHawke! Please let her be Bi!!

Though I wished for the same thing of Tali and look how that turned out..

I hadn't planned an F/F romance, but after watching one of the livestreams today, I've decided that Merril merits switching teams for at least one playthrough.

ah that would be interesting if that plays out =D but i can see that Merrill character for the romance part being like morrigan . not her style but telling you how you should be focus on her. so if it does happen^_^ no threeways guys lol

Well, I keep liking to think that this rumor of the Li's ALL being bi is just, well, a rumor.  But it has become so widespread, and so many people are convinced it's true, claiming to see it on live feeds, etc.  IF true, I cannot wait to romance Merril.  Isabella is already planned for my first run, but Merril is so cute!  Fiesty and nerdy . . . I wonder how true they will remain to her character from the Dalish origin?  I loved her confidence.

Ok, bacj to skepticism, before my hopes get to high :P

Merrill.

2 reasons.

She's cuter and the more unique charceter, once you got to know leliana in the first she was alot like Isabela seems to be.
Second, i only think Isabela is part romanceable - in for the fun, not the feelings.
- A little like Sebastien except he seems to be vice versa (No fun, only feelings.)

The guide mentions that their description of romancing doesn't apply in the same way for Isabela and Sebastian. I think this is why.

- Still, only a theory.

From what I've read, that's how it starts- friends with benefits but you can actually become lovers with Isabela and have her move in with you later in the game. I think the whole "romancing doesn't apply in the same way"-bit is due to the fact that you can have sex with her right from the start, instead of sex being the conclusion like it'll probably be with other LIs.

I'm not sure how I think about this...that might actually still be a fun/interesting 'romance' to pursue.  Also, it could be the case that there's never a proper declaration of 'love' but you just know the feelings are there.

Well the PC Gamer (I think it was that one at least) review did say that while the relationship with Isabela started off as a casual thing, but at one point they had become "live-in lovers" or something like that. Sounds alot like the Zevran romance, a fling/friends with benefits that evolves into much more...I mean there is 10 years for the relationship to grow after all.

Sure, while i wouldn't go for Isabela in the first game, i might do so in another. Just because i didn't feel Zevrans romance line was as fluffy as Lelianas it didn't stop me from doing both in different games Image IPB
