So whats the big deal with bi characters then? you can still go ******. So just because I would rather see bi options then ******, im a homophobe. I just dont like how minorites will call majorites names because they dont agree exactly the same way they do. Like black people calling others raciest.

I think people's issue with you in this particular thread is that you don't express yourself very eloquently, and thereby manage to step on toes whether you intend to or not.  I don't think anyone has said that there's something wrong with bisexuality per se, but the number of bisexuals in the group in DA:O is a bit surprising.  So far as I know, true bisexuality is rather rare.  Not to say that two bisexuals in a group is impossible, but it is improbable, considering that it happened randomly.  The lack of exclusively homosexual characters makes sense from a gameplay standpoint, but not necessarily from a societal one.

Just my two cents, however.  I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong if there's a persuasive argument against what I've said.

2 bisexual to me isn't rare. DA seems to handle sexuality different then the modern world. More from a pleasurable point then a relationship point. I wouldn't mind a ****** npc, idc. But for a companion, I don't want to have to play a male to romance a male i think is a cool character. vice versa.

I was just making a joke... about how certain fashion fads are supposed to represent ones sexuality... ok nvmd ...

Ok, sorry that I jumped on you there. Just a bit on edge, so I analyzed your post in a rather paranoid way.

True, the way that Ferelden handles sexuality seems to be much more tolerant than the real world, in a lot of ways.  The Chantry doesn't seem to have a problem with homosexuality at all, which is a fact that I quite like about the game.  (And a point in the Chantry's favor.)

I wouldn't mind a ****** npc, idc. But for a companion, I don't want to have to play a male to romance a male i think is a cool character. vice versa.

This is exactly what I meant when I stated that bisexual companions made sense from a gameplay standpoint. ;) I'm with you there.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there very likely are homosexual people in DA--they're just not in the Warden's party.  Who knows how many of the NPCs we ran across were, and it just wasn't a point that was important enough to put into interacting with them?

I believe Oghren's ex-wife Branka was a lesbian, no?

Yes, we should talk about ****** since you obviously have never seen them before in real life. [Spoiler: They are soft, and can come in different sizes. Consider this your Christmas present.]

Indeed!  Although after being married to Oghren...

Was she truly a lesbian though? Or did she just fall for Hespith [and used to love Oghren]? Because from Oghrens account of the relationship he made it seem like he didn't treat Branka well enough, and thus blamed his House's downfall on himself.

Herren and Wade also where gay, it even was confirmed by David Gaider.
Leliana and Marjourlane (? omg that name kills me xD gotta look her up and edit later) were obviously a lesbian couple and u also do not only meet Branka but her old love too. Thats the dwarf woman Hesbith with the creepy rhyms before the Broodmother. :wizard:
Oghren mentioned too, that Branka "run off" with another woman.

Ye quite sure about this. Branka said something like: "Even my beloved Hesbith turned against me..." This occured right before u meet her at the Anvil i think.

How could I forget about Herren and Wade. :<  They were my favorite non-party NPCs in the game.

I think Branka was BI as well. Her relationship with Oghren seemed a tumultuous one, and Oghren does seem to place the blame on himself.

Branka certainly fell for Hespith at some point because as CIryx mentioned, she refers to Hespith as "my Hespith" when she's recollecting the events that occurred during her search for the Anvil.

I'm not sure if there was a truly lesbian character in all of DA:O.

I wonder if Leliana is going to pop up at all in DA2? If we see her traveling around with the (fem)Warden it would give me goosebumps. It would be like Xena & Gabriel!

Gah, I missed this post. That would be so awesome! I would love to see a reference to the romance you had (well, if you had one) in Origins. It would be really sweet to see them or at least hear someone talk about them.

I would be so ecstatic if I could hear gossip similar to what the mages said about my warden's... interactions at the pearl in Witch Hunt.  But about my warden and Leliana... not a nug... :?

This would actually make me squeeee (and I'd like to think I'm not one to squee indiscrimnately). And, yes, sans nug would be preferable.

Well, the nug reference will only apply if you were wild enough to, uh... engage them. That was a hilarious reference in WH.

Hey, maybe the reference to Leli can involve caramel pudding! I would squee so loud and hard for that!

Whoops, I think we're derailing the thread! Let's get back to F/F LI for DA2.

So, it appears we have some consensus around the topic of cooking.
In answer to the question posed by the thread's title, we say,
"One who can make a good batch of caramel pudding!" Posted Image

A character with a slightly offensive personality with very strong personal points of view. So unlike Leliana or Liara, who were both "sweethearts".

While I don't mind whether this would be that characters' first f/f experience doesn't matter too much to me, though it could make for a VERY interesting miniplot, on how a person with a strong personality would end up exploring unknown territories. An "I'm more into man" point of view doesn't just change into a "let's fool around with another woman" point of view, so to make this believable in even the least way, would involve a slightly complex plot. The 10-year span of the game might actually help with this somehow, to build up to such a point.

I'd just want a woman. As in "adult female human being". Not a simpering, fawning, dependent little girl who needs to be rescued or healed or changed or whatever, which is sadly the too-common recipe for female characters, even from Bioware. I just want a strong, competent companion who doesn't need my protagonist for any reason, but chooses to be with her simply because she wants to. Ideally she would be a warrior -- I like to play melee, and having a "shield sister" to wade into the fray with would be rather nice.

Personality-wise, I don't like "girly", and I can't stand people who ****** on others all the time either. Morrigan etc. are about as funny as shoving someone in front of a train, i.e. not at all, at least in my book. I'd prefer her to be calm with nothing to prove, strong-willed and with firm principles. Though that'd clash with the stated intention not to make companions leave no matter how much you tick them off. *sigh* Consequences are a GOOD thing, damnit. DOn't let us get away with everything, in a "romance" or in general.
