For a f/f romance I'd like to see an elegant human or elven lady knight [snip]. Actually I'd like to see that as a romance option in general and think it would go excellent both ways.
She bears similarities to Samara from Mass Effect 2 in terms of a very tall, upright walk, regal demeanor, possibly in her thirties, and just very graceful. She wears her sun-kissed golden hair tied back in an elaborate bun or braid, large blue eyes, and a faraway look on her face. Unlike Bastila or other female leads she is not haughty and considers Hawke her equal unless of course he or she is snarky/rude to her.
Romance is not on her mind and she would be romanceable by both male and female PCs. She is focused on the war itself and the PC has to work his or her way into making her believe a relationship could work. She would definitely be a good woman, someone who is of the Chantry (in a spiritual sense, not in a fanatic self-righteous religious sort of way, she shows her spiritual side through her actions and personal code, not what society dictates what is right).
I like. <3
I vote for braids. And the abiliity to undo them as necessary. And see her sigh, put her hands up, and start braiding her hair again.

If a woman spends all day in armor and swings a greatsword/greataxe/sword and shield then she better not waste my time going on about shoes. And if Templars still can't cook, she should stay out of the kitchen too.
Unless ... she's planning to ravish femHawke in there. I'd be okay with that.
Yes on all points. (especially the ravishing. One can never have to much ravishing as Zevran showed me)
"Yarrr, pirate Zevran reporting for duty! Prepare to be boarded!" <---- This line = One of the main reasons I romance Zev.
I agree, Leliana was sweet and all but she was just so "damsel in distress-ish". When I left her to be in charge of the Denerim gates, her response of "Err, what, me?" (paraphrasing of course) was a big turn-off.
Although, if we get a strong female character, please don't make her ****y/haughty Bioware. Females can be confident and strong without resorting to ****iness. I didn't like Silk Fox because of her whole "Silence you, commoner!" attitude.
Well Silk Fox was a princess and a bit of a spoiled brat as well. Just saying.
I would like to see a female knight, who is pretty (she look nice but not ultra hot), strong, and independent and she is an open lesbian, but doesn't it shove it down everyone's throat. If you ask her she will tell you that she sleeps with women and women only. She's not bisexual at all. She has male friends, but that is all they are to her friends.
She should have a wicked sense of humor, and when you meet her she is looking to avenge the death of her former lover (possiblly an elf or a dwarf) once that is done and over the course of the decade she falls in love with Hawke. The romance should last over the course of the game (and the 10 years it reportly lasts in the game) so they should have a lot ups and downs over the years, she cheats on you and/or you cheat on her. At the end there should be talk of settling down, marriage (or a life commintment), and even adopting children.
Or just make a character like Silk Fox, Leliana, Liara or Samara I would be just as happy.

For me it depends ultimately on what kind of character I want to play as, but I have a rough idea so here goes.
An assassin, very used to being alone and not having others watching her back. Strong, independant, deadpan snarker but has moments of good will; she's not totally evil but doesn't take to killing children and the like. Might have come from the troubled past of a slaughtered family. Finds it hard to let someone in, so the ten year timeframe of the game works nicely.
If otherwise-
A bloodmage, also used to being alone and untrusting of others due to what she wields and their general reaction to it. Isn't very proud of her affinity for blood magic, but will use it regardless. Caustic wit used to keep others at a distance; much calmer when spoken to alone. Ten year timeframe will again allow for a slow, steady build of taking down the walls.
Would settle for -
Leliana Clone.

A female qunari love interest has the potential to make for a very interesting story particularly given the Qun's strange ideas about gender and sex, but I'd love to see a strong human warrior/knight as well.
Really though, I'm not picky as long as the character and romance are written well!

I really like Leliana. She's sweet, funny, very romantic and yet deadly. What's not to like? I think the writers did a good job with her romance and with making her attraction to women part of her character. I wouldn't mind seeing something similar again.

. . . a female bookworm mage who ends
up in your party for one reason or another. She would be really shy
and not really sure of herself and she is rather afraid of the outside
world since she was sent to the circle at a young age. Probably socially
awkward thus explaining her anti-social behavior. She has a hard time
speaking about what is on her mind but sometimes she blurts what is on
her mind without realizing until people stare at her(on a side note, if
this character ever exists, there should be another character that
compliments her character meaning that when this mage speaks the other
character jumps out of surprise). Depending on your actions as female
Hawke, the female mage would either look up to you than eventually
realize she has feelings for you and manages to tell you or depending on
your actions, she could become rather afraid of you and may not
associate with you or at least try to. She might even have an aura of
innocence around her and possibly clumsy. Being comical without trying
to be.

Well, seeing the direction BioWare is taking (mainstream action packed teenaged shooter fans' appeal), I will be very happy to ANY f/f romance option. Though a strong, independent, sexy mage with an attitude is a personal preference.
But Morrigan was straight.
That was my problem.
I admit that I felt the same at first. I wanted to romance Morrigan but it was a no-go. Then Lels came in and I was all like, Morri-who?
Seriously though, I want a strong willed female. Someone who knows what she wants and won't stop till she gets it. Hmm, it seems like I'm just asking for a second chance at romancing Morrigan!
Someone mentioned it earlier, but I would also like a Fem Qunari as an option. It seems a bit contrived considering the views Qunari have on love and sex (for them sex never has to be about love, it's just reproduction), but that's what would make it appealing. If she acts like Sten, the romance dialogues would be gold!
By the way, I love how civil and mature this thread has conducted itself. Never would've expected that on a fem/fem thread.

You select an option ' So how about we go to my tent? I want to show you my journal...'
Female PS: "Stop staring at me trough that screen. I know what you're thinking you sick bastard."
